I only watch the Superbowl for the commercials anyways, so I dont care too much who's going to play. Although, the Pats are my hometeam. And it is cool to watch NE kick everyone's butt out there.

Go Pats. And may the Budweiser commercials actually be funny this year.

The Superbowl commercials have been kinda lame IMO the last couple of years.

Here's hoping ALL of them are a bit better.

I have to agree. The past couple years there's just been something missing with the commercials. I don't know where the originality went, but I really hope they're entertaining this year.

And is there ever going to be a time when the half show is even worth watching? I can't think of one time I watched them. It's usually when I go to refill my snackages

N-no, I'm not ready. Wait...WAIT DON'T START YET!!

I'm pulling for the Falcons and the Steelers. Falcons because Vick went to VA Tech and I went to UVa and even though he's a hokie, Virginians stick together. Steelers because when I don't care about either team I root for the underdog, and I don't give a damn about NE or Pittsburgh.

Ugh, Super Bowl commercials. I mute and cover my eyes every time the commericals come on, they're so annoying. I wish they'd just play the game. Of course, the NBA playoffs are so much worse, I think their commercial:game time ratio is 2:1, literally. The last minute of a game takes a half hour to watch and that bites me right in the sack.

Go Falcons!

Btw Sanni, just because you don't like the sport doesn't mean it's "fixed." I'll admit, the NFL isn't the most exciting sport, because really it's just a bunch of old sweaty guys tackling eachother.

College Football is the best though.

(Georgia Tech baby!)

Ya know.... West Virginia and Virginia used to be one state. The sort of split up though. So... maybe they don't stick together all that much after all.

Just sayin.

Reeve I enjoy football very much but not when it's played professionally something about it tells me how it's going to turn out.

I understand what you're talking about. It happens to me too. Nothing "amazing" happens in the NFL. It's not like College where you can say "Oh, New Mexico State Tech A&M of Albequerque beat #1 Oklahoma in overtime!" where in the NFL it's like "Oh, the Rams beat the Suckhawks again..." (Thats what we call them here in Washington if you didn't know...)

True, but we didn't have much choice. West Virginians like to stick together in a uh...different way.

That Coca-Cola (or was it Pepsi? I can't remember) one with Jimi Hendrix was pretty good. Not that laugh-out-loud funny, but a lot better than the rest.

I am a huge football fan. I like both the NFL and College ball. While its the same basis of the game, its different enough to make it interesting IMO.

College is good becasue you can see some real loyalty there. Fans who have went to the school. Players who aren't yet making a ton of money (although I would be willing to bet that more than 60% of them are drawing extra money under the table). You do get some very competitive games in there, but most of the time, the drawback to college ball is lack of talent. Yes, from time to time you get very good games, but there are a lot of blow-outs. I am a UF fan (alumni), they typically play central tennesee state tech A&M def and blind school early in the season.. they don't ever have a chance. Figured the same could have been said about Miss St this year... go figure /ponder.

The NFL though is a lot different. Stuff that works in college doesn't work in the NFL. Thus, you don't see stuff like the option. East/West running and lots of juking works in college (for the non-football fans, that is side to side running), but that never works in the NFL for the most part (Barry Sanders being the exception to the rule). The NFL has more talent on the field per player, which adds to the competitiveness.

Things that the NFL does that other sports can learn from
SALARY CAP
REVENUE SHARING
AGE LIMITATIONS

Also... to those who picked Atlanta... you should know better... I am also a Bucs fan (will pause for laughing, we sucked again this year), there is a curse in the NFL where any team who loses to the Bucs in a given season WILL NOT win the Super Bowl... Atlanta lost to us in the 2nd meeting. Their fate was sealed before they even played the playoffs.
