OK. I have a week off work, Drac and Noblet have gone to stay with their Mom and I have itchy feet.

My Options:

• Stay home and carry out the long-overdue decorating and gardening
• Take the car on the boat to France and drive around France/Belgium/Holland/Germany etc., sampling the local cuisine and beverages
• Catch a plane and spend the week chilling out

• If it's the latter, I'm considering the following destinations:

Back to:
• Paris
• Berlin
• Rome
• Madrid
• Belfast
• Lisbon
• Amsterdam
• Brussels
• Venice
• Florence

• Or try out places I haven't been:
• St Petersburg
• Prague
• Moscow
• Tallin
• Stockholm
• Copenhagen
• Turin

• After an Über-stressful spell at work, my ability to take decisions is impaired.
Suggestions appreciated (And before anyone else proposes it: I do plan to Go Fuck Myself)

I would suggest Strausburg. It is a small, quiet town with small cafes. It would be good for a day or two, giving you a chance to relax from your " Über-stressful spell at work".

Need a companion?

Seriously, I would say either pick a place you know you love and will be relaxing, or one of the spots you havent been before. If you have the energy for touring, then check out a new location. If you're looking to really unwind, go with what you know, and enjoy

Go to Krakow. Only because I've always wanted to go and I could live vicariously through you.

If you can stretch to it Nobby, Malta is just about the best place i have been to Europe wise.

Clean, warm, friendly, the locals all speak english and there are tons of both historical and social things to do.

Besides Ollie Reed loved the place and if thats not a good advert for the place nothing is.

Thanks. Good stuff.

PsiChi ~ I like Strasbourg but not sure it has a great attraction for me just now

DSD ~ I'll have a car sent round ;-)

Joph ~ I did wonder about Krakow and Katowice. Hmm

tarv ~ Yep, I like Malta, but as with Strasbourg, it didn't make me itch to go back. And I want to avoid an Anglophone area. Most of my languages are getting rusty so I plan to use this week to either refresh my skills or learn something new.

Check out what this guy does in his free time.. Interesting, although I dont think I would have the balls to explore some of these former Haz -Mat infested ruins...

Okay Nobby, first I would do the travelling thing and pick a new place for sure Moscow would be interesting.

Now if I could ask you a small favor?

Now that Drac is out of the house you need to do the following:

• locate his porno stash he is a teenage boy so you know its there
• Take a long drive stop at a convenience store which you never are going to visit again
• Purchase a STACK of gay porno mags the more obscene and gross the better
• replace his **** stash with the gay ****
• now its up to you, either play like you just found it and bust him on it when he gets home or let him find out for himself and just never ever mention it ever.

• If you feel uncomfortable with the gay **** feel free to pic up a mag or so featuring chubby ladies or elderly 50+ yr old women as long as its gross.

I'd say either Prague or Moscow, though I'm not sure I'd go to either one in January. Being a lazy heat seeker I'd probably go to Italy or Greece, since I imagine you've done Spain to death.

Just sayin', but if you do choose Copenhagen, don't stay in town. It's far from big and not that interesting. Visit the Little Mermaid and Tivoli, and then hurry up north to the countryside and the beaches.

That is where you will find the real beauty of Denmark.

Out of all of those really. I would choose Rome. Just to see all the old sites and ruins, Pompeii and wahtnot. to walk through that kind of history is unheard here in America.

We don't have building older than 300 years usually, and they tear down **** all time anyway. Europe seems to keep things around longer for the sheer hisorical value of it.
Only thing we rally have to dig for here is Indian arrowheads. There you dig and find a Roman Helmet or a Celtic Chariot or somthing.

Damn, It'd be cool to just spend a week in London. visit the Globe and the Tower... There's nothing in Baltimore but an old port that had alot of bars...even for the 1700s... which tells ya somthing about the culture here.

First of, spell 'Mum' like a real man and not some little whining pussy whipped American.

Secondly, hop in the car and either:

A: Drive up to the north of Scotland, we're in the middle of a very cold, dry spell and all the mountain's are pituresque and all that shit

B: Drive to Switzerland and sample the local bevarage while observing a rather more impressive set of mountains.

Nobody says "mum". If you want to get into verbal pronociation, it's pronounced "'m&m". And according to Webster Dictionary:
"mum - chiefly British variant of MOM".

Reminds me of "those darn englishman ruining our language". :)

P.S. Nadenu, didn't it already blow up once?

M<ore likely, his **** stash is downloaded. Not that this plan wouldn't apply well there. Download some nice gay ****, record the names of all his **** files, rename them all, then rename the gay **** to replace his stuff. Good times.

If you're in need of gay ****, I'll hook you up. That would just be EVIL to do to someone... I like it. It'd be rather as if someone replaced all my **** with hot young lesbian coeds... <shudder>

Personally, I'm rooting for St. Petersburg. Russia's an amazing country with so much unique culture. Course, at this time of year it'd be buggering freezing, so you might do to put it off until summer. Of course, the road trip around the continent would be fun too, and it would be a very low-maintenance holiday. How adventuresome are you feeling? I'm with Lady D, if you want relaxation then take the car across by boat. If you want something more active, pick one of the cities from your untried list and just spend a week exploring. Either way, it should be a fun holiday. =)
