Tell you what Nade, go start drinking again and tell me when you get pretty, then I will love you at least 2 times before a sense of self loathing sets in.

ok i just got it from this thread
#14 Jan 21 2005 at 12:05 PM Rating: Decent
It's probably randomly inserted into the code based on a dynamic equation that either takes the time to determine if it is going to pop or to do with the forum number and the mid info passed in the querystring. It is definately being done from the server side since the only client side code that appears when the 'GFY again' javascript pops is only that execution line.

Therefore, it is beyond a shadow of a doubt safe to assume that the culprit is Danalog,Illia, Ag or another programmer because it would have to be done right at the perl source.

So a big GFY to you, and have a nice day.

Edit: sp and forgot Illia

There was an "exploit" mentioned before that anyone could put code into their "posting from" info. Dunno if they ever fixed it.

I'd have to take your word for it. I stopped programming about the same time I gave up my Commodore 64.

I mentioned it a year or so ago, but, as usual, no one paid any mind to me.

Lol Guys, if it was a post exploit then it would happen for everyone in the same thread all the time because only client side code could be executed, and in this case when it is executed only one line of code shows up therefore eliminating the possibility of a client side code timer/if statement.

Therefore I re-itereate, it has to be server side code that looks at the forum number, and then checks the time or mid and then decides if it is going to insert the magical 'GFY again'. Sorry to burst your bubble on the exploit theory.

However, I would like to add Chtu, your 'Fix this' popup proves my theory. I get that one everytime I reload with your code.

That would take more alcohol than I'm willing to drink in one sitting. But thanks for the offer! Smiley: inlove

Well, seeing as how there's now pop-up boxes saying "FIX THIS!", it seems a bit odd for the Devs to be doing it.

well, the "fix this" is cthulhu's fault. you can "view source" if you want, or just note that his "posting from" is blank, but still written there.
