What I got from reading this thread is, doesn't matter if you're a conservative or liberal male. Just so long as these girls find out about stripping somehow. Right guys?

It wasn't just that he told them about stripping that bothered me. Of course these children are going to find out about stripping eventually. But let them be at a mature enough age to handle it.

The problem was his lesson about increased bust size leading to higher salaries. Not only teaching kids that physical appearance is more important than hard work or ability, but also enforcing negative body image concepts. Like 14-year-old girls need MORE reasons to feel insecure and develop eating disorders. Smiley: disappointed

I'm with you on the body image thing, tricky. It's totally gotten out of hand, and it's one of my hot button issues. (The Swan, anyone? Someone kill the people who created that show.)

At the same time, I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. Even if these 12 year old girls aren't told right to their faces that they'll be so much better if they get boob jobs, nose jobs and other surgeries, they pick it up in every day life.

If one of these girls takes this guy to his word and goes out to get her breasts enlarged, I don't think it would be just because she heard it from him. She has most likely been influenced already by the world she's living in.

Sad as that world is...

As far as I was arguing and assessing the topic, it applied to male strippers as well.

I sort of agree about the breast-size thing though--unless he was going into such types of detail with all the professions it didn't seem necessary. Plus out of gender fairness he should've discussed male ***** size as a salary-increaser too.

As far as it being TMI for a youngster to handle, I disagree with that, the more info people get the better. If it's considered "bad" info, hopefully the kid will have parents or other lines of philosophy that will balance it. But better to reveal some facts with the opportunity to reveal all, than silence some and only reveal others, IMO.
