Deny thy father and refuse thy name.

What the dill? It was sweet having your sarcasm in the Asylum. Oh and the wonderful CJ's. I miss the angry liberal from frithco.

I like to think he's soaking in a jar of vinegar somewhere, to make his sarcastic barbs that much more acrid.

Quote:
where·fore

1. For what purpose or reason; why.
2. Therefore.

Smiley: laugh Thanks for the definition trick. I had to look up the spelling afterwards. Anyway, I think this applies.

Quote:
the cause or intention underlying an action or situation, especially in the phrase `the whys and wherefores

Ah, true dat.

I just usually see people using it to mean "where," which I learned was incorrect from a tv show. Smiley: wink2

Sorry, Trick was correct in the first place. Wherefore means why, not where.

Synonyms: account, antecedent, argument, base, bedrock, call, cause, demonstration, determinant, dope, evidence, excuse, factor, footing, foundation, goods, groundwork, inducement, info, infrastructure, justification, motive, numbers, occasion, premise, pretext, proof, rationale, reason, root, seat, straight stuff, substratum, test, testimony, trial, underpinning, wherefore, why, whyfor

Sorry, that one drives me a little bit crazy in the head.

But I'll give you a little karma grope to ease the pain. Smiley: jester

Quote:
wherefore

n : the cause or intention underlying an action or situation, especially in the phrase `the whys and wherefores' [syn: why] adv : for which reason; "wherefore do I receive this honor?"

Well, perhaps. I meant to use it in this manner, but now looking at the question posed in the subject line, you are both correct. However, taking a little liberty and some ambiguity, mine works too. Maybe? Anyway, didn't mean it as where.

Pickle was like a bad rash, he grew on me. Then, when he was gone, I found myself scratching even though he's no longer there.

We miss you PP. Come back. Because I really like to scratch myself. Especially in public.

Sorry, I meant Smash. What? You're not reading my mind, Mentoch?

About Katie, she made one of her usual charming appearances the other day.

I think the correct answer would be:

where art thou?

the for is unnecessary, lest it were wherefore, which has been proven (?) wrong.

Yes, but the second syllable makes it sound better.
