I live in Northern Indiana. Last night it snowed about 3 inches. Its been in the 20's all week. Tonight, we have thunder and lightening, and it's rained about half an inch in the last half hour. The parking lot of the hotel I work at has standing water. I don't remember it raining nearly this hard at all over the summer when its supposed to rain. I must say I have never seen this type of rain when its 25 degrees outside. In addition to the rain, its supposed to snow like a foot tomorrow.

Is this the end of the world?

OMG! Yes! The weather has been nuts lately. I finally saw the sun today after like 4 days of no sun. And my heater actually comes on late at night unless I turn it down to like 65 or something...

Crazy I tell you! :)

Sounds like typical weather where I live. It's been in the 60's for about a week and a half now, and this weekend it's going to be in the 20's. Yay!

Some of my friends around the country have been noticing the same thing. Nevada is getting some crazy weather esp.
My thoughts; I live in New England, where weather changes every ten minutes. I just figure the rest of the world is catching on to our weather patterns

Even New England is acting weird, (not that I think it's the end of the world...and not that it would be a bad thing if it was ><). I've been in New England all my life, and the weather over the last 2 years is just so out of whack. We've had this Warm/Cold trend where this year it's just weird. Like Lady said...it's suppose to be like 60 degree's tomorrow, but this morning schools are closed in my area due to icing and snow. We've had instead of snow, mass amounts of freezing rain.

I guess when you think about it, any weather change that becomes a constant requires a period of adjustment for us. All the weird trends lately (Volcanic activity, Temp. variation, Hurricanes...) just seem so condensed and 'all of a sudden'.

Yeah, living in Indiana won't help when the Canary Islands collapse into the Atlantic and washes out all of North America!

New York is having its own share of weather. Not that there's ever any lack of weather going on...but after snowing most of yesterday, today is relatively normal, around 38 degrees. Tomorrow it's going to hit the 60s, and Friday it's going back down to the 20s. That should be fun - all the snow melts enough to re-freeze solidly over the roads.

I'll attest to that being from Las Vegas. It has been very irregular weather this winter. First time we've seen sun in about a week which is very unusual. Being in a desert it is not unusual for it to rain on occasion but it is very unusually to have cloud cover for more than a day or too. In addition to that, record setting snow has fallen in the mountains surrounding the valley causing run-off and severe flooding. There is something strange about getting a flash flood warning broken through on the radio when its not raining.

Unlike most places that experience rain on occasion the rock under Las Vegas does not soak up any water. We have no aquafir here. So with an inch of rain we can have massive flooding. Walls of water flowing down roads, and the city's poorly planned aquaduct is of no help.

The worst of it all however is the inexperience of drivers here that have not lived anywhere with rain. Me being originally from the Northwest have a somewhat understanding of how to handle a motor vehicle in a downpoor. Here however it causes mass confusion, like lemmings in cars. When the rain first started about a week ago our metro police department reported over 400 accidents during the rush hour traffic home. Scary stuff.

I looked at our extended forecast today. Big mistake.

High today is 32 degrees, and up to six inches of snow is expected. It's supposed to drop below 0 tonight, and not go back above the 0 point until Monday afternoon. Ugh.

High tomorrow is -9 with winds gusting up to 50 mph.

High on Friday is -28 with winds gusting up to 30 mph.

High on Saturday is -18 with winds gusting up to 25 mph.

High on Sunday is -8, but the wind is supposed to die down.

High on Monday is 30 with more snow expected.

Typically 50's-60's here. Nothing unusual this year.
But then I live in the south so that's normal.

As for New England that type of weather is typical. It was going on like that when I was a kid and all throughout the time I lived there. Some years it'll snow in early April. Some it will be warm up until mid November. Others it will rain in January.

Smiley: laugh Anyone from Ma or New England that remembers the April fools day storm in 97?

I was a senior in highschool, it had been beautiful the day before, hadn't watched the news at all so my entire family had no clue!!! We all got ready for school/work, and I was walking out the door balkwards talking to my mom when BAM! I tripped and fell backwards into over a foot of snow. Needless to say we all just threw our pjs back on and went to sleep.

Talk about a good fools joke.
