Ok so for christmas I got around $150 big ones in gift cards for bestbuy. I think Ive pretty much narrowed it down to getting a MP3 player to replace my old cd player and to have something to listen to while im working out.

Could I get some good ideas on good mp3 players that people have or had good experiences with. When it comes to mp3 players im like a duck in a tar pit.

I have a 128 MB MPIO player which is good, but I'm looking at the 256mb version for only $149. Bought it at Bestbuy.

It plays all sorts of formats, and has a built in radio tuner, so after all the songs are finished it automatically switches to the radio which is nice when I'm running.

Specifically, would that be a duck in the La Brea tar pit? If so, you might be in more danger from 9mm bullets from a gangbanger driveby than getting your ****** prodded from a wooly mammoth's tusk. I can't really answer your question about MP3s without knowing this, thank you.

ARGH

Yes I have been looking in the bestbuy site all day and Im more confused than when i started. Different models have different options and such.

Im pretty sure I want the 256 mb

But I see other stuff about being able to put music on it without a pc?

Other stuff along the same lines. What should I be looking for in terms of options and durability?

Ok here is my final contestants I think:

Philips Nike 256MB $129.99

MPIO 128MB $119.99

iRiver 128MB $119.99

Which do you guys think out of those three would be the best long term for the money spent?

Holy shit Nobby that Phonograph rocks! But I really need a 45 player. This new artist called Miles Davis is heating up the charts.

OK

So I went down to Bestbuy and I ended up getting a
MPIO 256 mgb

On the website it says it sells for $149.99 but when I got there it turns out it was actually on sale for $129.99 plus an additional $20 rebate that I have to mail in. So all in all I ended up picking this up for around $110 total.

Also this little machine is a lot smaller than what I pictured. All in all im quite happy with this and im going to be setting it up very soon.

Thanks for the help.
