You do understand that, now that you mentioned it here, it's eventually going to be stolen, yes?

That's a nice system. I prefer CRTs but hey, whatever. Your system can still kick the **** outta my system. :D
#4 Jan 02 2005 at 1:33 PM Rating: Good
I don't know what any of that means, but is sounds sexy.
#5 Jan 02 2005 at 1:35 PM Rating: Decent
I'm jealous.

Your system might not be obsolete for a month...maybe even two!
#6 Jan 02 2005 at 1:35 PM Rating: Decent
Sounds like a nice system, but calling a piece of electroninc equipment "Sexy" should be grounds for instant Lobotomy.

( Unless of course that piece of equipment is a "Sex-Droid 2250-A, Mk VI" ( /sarcasm mode off ).

Well, that's a nice amount of money.

Did you pick out all the hardware yourself or was it a bundle or w/e it's called?

Yea, but Intel and Radeon both cheat for their clock speeds. They only run 2 cycles per process instead of other companies 3.

I'm into AMD and Geforce, but if you want silence, Intel's the one for you.

....You do realize that processors are not the cause of noise in your computer, right?

I had my first computer set up on a laundry hamper. Yeah, I was pretty broke and renting a room, but I had a computer and I was on the internet, dammit!

AMD's processors create more heat. To remove the heat, the fan has to rotate faster. A faster rotation makes more noise. I think that is what he was trying to say.

But you are right, the processor itself does not make that much noise.

You might say that while AMD focus on quantity, Intel focus on quality. You get a stronger processor with AMD, but the effectiveness has its downsides; an Intel processor does not overheat as easy as an AMD processor, for instance.

Walker your flatpanel better have the digital connect.

I just got a new comp the other day and have a 17' Flat Panel and I tried Analog hook up and then tried Digital and the difference is so pronounced that even computer jaded me had to sit and go "ooooh"

Enjoy the new rig, of course I hope you also remembered to buy a game that can put your new system to the test.

I stopped playin FFXI a long time back but when I got my new comp:

P4 3.4 ghz
1024mb ddr gram
160gb HD
Audigy Soundcard
128 Radeon 600 SE
DvD RW +/-
DVD Rom
17" Flat Panel

I went and downloaded the FFXI Benchmark and at low I ran at 5000+ at 1024x768.

I then turned it onto highest settings and ran the benchmark and it still ran smooth and FFXI looked amazing. And im not even rocking a good video card. Im sure you will have fun with your rig and FFXI.

I'll be switching between that PC at my Dad's place and a:

AMD Duron 900 MHz
256 MB
Radeon 9200 Smiley: lol

Can anybody comment on the graohics card? I've not read any reviews concerning it.

Bleh I think thats a ripoff. You could build the same thing in Georgia for about 800 bucks. For 1200 bucks something a wh0le lot better. Glad I didnt spend that much. You got anally raped.

Nope...his parents were anally raped. This youngster doesn't understand the meaning of a tight budget far from not having enough lunch money to get Combos™ and that muffin.

Qaoz, I hope you know it's also dependant of what company you jump for when it comes to buying a fan. Personally, I always go Cooler Master, and unless it's something huge looking like the Jet 7 (which is literally mostly for looks...but it does a hell of a cool down), they are typically quiet and ubber efficient.

Think before you type. :)
