Things I noticed when listening to GW speakFollow

#52 Jan 01 2005 at 7:33 PM Rating: Good
Ohhh...so you put your trust in a 'newsman' that relies on forged documents from a very disreputable source ti support his biased agenda?

I'd sooner get my news from Carrot Top than Blather.

Adiemus,
You're kidding me, right?
Do you honestly research these topics or just click FoxNews and regurgitate whatever they say is the truth. (Notice the lack of a question mark there)
Here's a little history for you....Feb 2001, Colin Powell interview, (paraphrased, in my own style, of course) Saddam is a pissant midget who can't even control the people in his own borders much less attack another country...he talks tough because that's ALL he can do....talk.
June (maybe July) 2001, CondoSleeza (sorry, but that little wench irritates the living shiite outta me) says UN sanctions are working, he has been forced to dismantle and has NO abilities or materiel necessary to attack anyone more formidable than the corner grocer....we must keep an eye on him just in case he tries to add to the general instability in the region, THAT'S IT.
Post-9/11, scant MONTHS later, and Saddam has 'nukular' weapons, biological weapons, we know how much, we know where....we MUST go in before the mushroom clouds start appearing over our fair cities.
Are you fookin' kiddin' me?
And if you want to quote me every dem that jumped on the bandwagon and chanted WAR, WAR, WAR right along with the pubs at this time, you go right ahead. They were wrong too. They were wrong because they relied on the 'president's' intel....supposedly the best intel there is. They were lied to, and they were wrong to believe it. We were lied to, and we were wrong to believe it.
Clinton lies about a ******* and it's all some of you idiots will ever remember him for.....Georgie lies so big it's honestly mind-boggling. But once you realize he HAS lied, you MUST hold him accountable. He's not a straight shooter, you know this in your heart, but you cling to that concept....because the alternative is that the man in the most powerful job on this friggin' planet just looked you in the eye and lied....with malice aforethought. You sound old enough to remember the Gulf of Tonkin....McNamara himself has (finally) fessed up. So what's the story? McNamara's a left wing stooge now? Or did you just think it couldn't happen twice in your lifetime?
I'll happily read a Tom Clancy novel...if you'll just do one little thing in return. Borrow somebody's copy of Fahrenheit 9-11...no, I wouldn't THINK of asking you to watch the whole thing...heck, you can even turn the sound down (preferable, actually, MM has swallowed his own hype...egotistical idiot)...then have someone fast forward to the part where it shows our great president 20 seconds....SECONDS....before he goes on the air to tell the country that he's putting us into war with Iraq. Watch him make faces....giggle....SECONDS before putting into words 'that most difficult decision no president ever wants to make.' That's who you're espousing. Who you're lauding.
If you can still believe his lie, ask yourself one final question...if he seriously thought Saddam had ANY weapons of MASS destruction, why were our troops MASSed to invade Iraq? If you had even the tiniest inkling that your enemy was going to lob a WMD at your guys, would you put your guys ALL TOGETHER IN ONE SPOT so a WMD would have maximum effect? No, you wouldn't....but if you KNEW the WMD line was a lie....well, it sure would be easier to have your guys attack en masse than to have to try to coordinate 17 different attack groups from 17 different directions....wouldn't it?
BAH....this is foolishness....you're either an idiot savant, or you already know all this and just refuse to admit it, extending that refusal maybe even to yourself. Whatever. When the rebel army forms to take back our country...the America I know and love...I will join, and I will gladly give my life for the country that has given me everything. I hope you've opened your eyes by then and we'll be fighting side by side.
To any of you idiots out there that still, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, believe this is a just war in Iraq, sign up. Put your money where your mouth is. Don't tell me you're too old, infirm, whatever...if you can't pass the physical, you can volunteer and do grunt work over there. Food needs cooking, laundry needs cleaning, and garbage cans need scrubbing...you won't make any money, but they'll feed and house you. All you have to do is get there, and there are rabidly partisan websites that would be happy to pay your fare if you can't afford it yourself. Make sure your sons and daughters sign up before you leave though, k?

Nom-

Nope...I calls 'em as I sees 'em. No more, no less.

What the Left really hates is that- finally- Fox news has broken the ideological embargo against even offering the Right's perspective on a given topic. Until then, the Left controlled virutally all electronic and print media, with the exception of talk radio- which they tried their best to demonize and/or marginalize (remember what Clinton said about talk radio after the Oklahoma City bombing). Fox has a Right-wing bend, no doubt about it and I'd never suggest otherwise. But it isn't a mouthpiece for Bob Jones University. Fox is considered Right-wing only because all the others are soooo far Left that the contrast is more stark than it otherwise would be, were any of the other major networks even remotely 'fair and balanced'.

You take Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell to task for possibly changing their positions on Saddam and then laud Robert McNamara for changing his position on the Gulf of Tonkin. Could it possibly be because you agree with McNamara's evolved position while you do not agree with Powell and Rice's? That's pretty obvious hypocracy on your part but I think it points toward to folly that permeates the balance of your post.

As for the 'lies', once again you exhibit selective amnesia. The Democrats and international officials I named as believing Saddam had WMDs said so >BEFORE< Bush was even in office. You're telling me that it's Bush's fault Clinton believed Saddam had WMDs in 1998?

Sorry...the only President that I recall 'looking into my eyes and lying' was yer hero Bubba Billy Boy Clinton. Remember "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinski."?

And, no, the lie wasn't about Clinton getting serviced in the White House (while he was on the phone to my Senator on one occasion). He denied several women justice (you Leftists are all for women's rights , aren't you? Or only if the person that is taken down by the charge is a Republican like Gingrich?) through his lying under oath- that would be called Perjury- and by his constantly evading testifying- that would be called Obstruction of Justice. You drank the Liberal Kool-Aid and bought into the lie.

I equate Michael Moore with Josef Goebbles. I've seen Goebbles' in action, so why should I waste my time on Moore? We all know that he doesn't like this country, doesn't like this President, doesn't like anyone who makes money- save apparently himself, that is- in short, really doesn't like much except his own lying voice. He and his movie have been totally discredited and will, in time, return to the dust (in his case, maybe to the manure) that gave it birth. I am glad that he hung around long enough to become the Official Spokesman for the Democratic Party- him sitting in the VIP booth with Jimmy Carter at the Dem Convention was a truly priceless TV moment- because MM was a chief reason the Dems lost. Please, by all means...keep him around and let him bark every 4 years so you'll keep losing elections.

I'll question your knowledge of military history as well.

It is very typical to mass your troops in a relatively small area prior to an invasion. Take D-Day, for instance: roughly 1 million troops were based in SE England for the cross-Channel invasion. There are several reasons for this, chief among them being operational security and force cohesion. Hitler did the same when he invaded Poland and France, though not Russia because the front was so wide.

In the Iraq War, we're also hampered by the reticence of most of the countries in the Region to allow us to base our troops on their soil. Only Kuwait and, I think Qatar, allowed us to stage from there. if you only have a couple of baskets, you must put your eggs in what baskets you have and not wish for more baskets.

I seem to recall Clinton laughing quite a bit at the funeral of Ron Brown...that is until the cameras were on him and then he assumed that pensive biting of the lower lip pose that served him so well. What's your point?

'Join the rebel army and take back America'? What rubbish! I've got news for you...the rebels already took back America from your side, beginning in the 1980s with Reagan, having the Republican Revoloution of 1994 counterbalance Clinton and up to 2000 when Bush was elected. Your side did all they could for 40+ years to destroy this country I love and you- thankfully- failed. I joined my side in 1984 (the first election for which I was old enough to vote, though I thought Republican since I was around 12) and I've been a 'soldier' ever since.

I have no doubt that you are sincere in your views. Completely misinformed, ill-informed and misguided perhaps, but sincere. I'd be willing to be that you're either fresh out of college or possibly still in college, where you are constantly indoctrinated by Leftist professors. When you are exposed to no dissent, is it any wonder you accept only one view as being the truth?

Adiemus,
College kid?
Nope.....pushing 40 with a bullet.
Idealistic? No, that was beaten out of me in the Army and working mainly grunt jobs....jobs where Reagan's trickle-down (better known as pissing on your head and telling you it's raining) economics and Georgie's tax cuts that benefit 'everyone'. Please.
You want to throw numbers around? No problem. The rich pay 12 times as much as the poor in taxes...and their average tax return was 80 times the tax return of the working poor. That's a NICE return on their investment.
Powell and CondoSleeza 'changed their stance', huh? And I only acknowledge McNamara's change because I agree with it? Powell and Rice changed their stance to agree with Shrub, 10 and 5 mos later, respectively. McNamara 'changed his stance' 30 yrs later....wouldn't you say there's just a bit of a difference there? What the hell does McNamara stand to gain but peace of mind? And the dems in '98 stating they believed Saddam still retained wmd's is 3 yrs (a situation can change in 3 yrs of enforced sanctions, don't you think) before Powell and Rice stating hey, the sanctions worked....at this point, Saddam's an angry midget.
And, in case you don't remember, Clinton got nailed for his perjury....fined and disbarred. Who the fook cares? 7 yrs of investigations, travelgate, whitewater, ad nauseum, SEVENTY-FIVE million dollars and Slick Willy finally gets nailed for lying under oath.....about a *******. Wow. That's a feather in the pub cap. 9-11 comes along, we have to publicly decry our idiot president until he agrees maybe a commission should look into it, and we spend 11 million dollars to try and figure out how it happened, who exactly is responsible (surprise for the pubs....NOT IRAQ...go figure), what we can do to avoid it ever happening again....nice priorities there, doncha think?
Nice try at a distraction from my telling you to watch 20 secs of Fahrenheit 9-11....foaming at the mouth and gibbering, But that MM's an idiot!! Uh....no kidding, already said that, didn't I? Didn't ask you to watch 20 secs of MM....didn't even ask you to listen to him....asked you to watch our glorious prez 20 secs prior to him going on the air and telling the US he was taking us into war with Iraq, and then try to say anything positive about the idiot with a straight face.
As for questioning my knowledge of military history? Nice examples, you only had to go back, what? 60 yrs? You're right, wmd deployment and delivery technology hasn't increased significantly in the last 60 yrs.....psst, Adiemus, your rebuttals are falling further and further into the realm of 'folly'.
And lastly, as for Clinton's laughing at Brown's funeral...nice segue...it certainly was germaine to....well, nothing. What'd ya have, an acid flashback or something?
Anyhoo, I'll check back to see if maybe your last post was due to....oh, I don't know, maybe you had Rush turned up too loud?
Oops, almost signed off w/o giving you credit for the one true thing you admitted that most pubs won't admit to....that FauxNews actually might lean a little to the right....kudos.

as a medically retired soldier, formerly of the u.s. army, i'd respectfully ask that you not allude to yourself as 'a soldier', unless you were one

SaintNuke, if that's directed at me I stated I was in the US Army, which is the truth. A whoppin' 2 yrs, '83 to '85, never got above E-1....which, supposedly, wasn't possible, should have been drummed out 6 mos after basic if I hadn't been promoted....but they found out I could type and stuck me in S-2 filling in background check forms. Until they found another typist that I could train to replace me, they just kept me at PVT....soon as I got out of basic I was flagged for overweight, and then I had some discipline problems resulting in, oh, 6 or 7 art 15's. Oh, well. If I had it to do over again, I'd do it differently....I only signed up for 3 yrs, but getting a general discharge after 2 yrs meant no college money. At least it was automatically upgraded to honorable 3? 5 yrs later, maybe?
Can't remember....I'm old and decrepit now. ;-)
Thanks for your service, green brother....GL on all things this new year.
