I am so tired these days, I can't even get the energy to be nice. I am living on my last ******* nerve. Yesterday I lost it at the grocery, I went shopping for a few things. When I got to the check out, the college age male checker and three bag boys were ******** around. It was taking him forever to ring my groceries, they were all talking about some sports event or something, and no one was even bagging my groceries. I just lost it, and walked off. He yelled at me, "Mam, where are you going?" In the front of the store I turned into ***** on wheels and basically told him that I figured he was more interested in his friends, and ******** around then working. So I wasn't really that interested in bagging my own groceries or paying for the priviledge.

JC, They were having a breakfast with Santa children were everywhere, and all the top management was there. It turned into a huge cluster with the Checker yelling at me. I just walked out to the car, followed by several store managers trying to apologize and drove home.

This is why I can't have a gun....I think going postal would be very easy right now!

That sounds like enough to make me want to walk out of the store as well. I don't see anything wrong with your response to the situation.

Hang in there! I hope things get better for you!

Holy cow...I would have never expect that from you, Redyne.

For the record, I have the highest respect for you out of everyone else I've "met" in these forums. Even when things look down, you've always managed to stay chipper and happy about things. I could easiy point you as a role model of what every human being should be.

Now, reading how you lost it at the store, also lets me realize that you are human, too. Something that even you should take into account when you sit and reflect on what happened back there.

Not only do you have every right to have been upset at the grocery store, but you ALSO have every right to BE upset in general. Never forget that.

I think I've just started rambling...but you get the point I'm trying to state...I hope?

Either way, don't worry about it, girl! You know that if all those store managers serenaded you, then SOMEONE obviously got fired! Smiley: wink2

Though...it worries me a little...what else is on your mind that would allow you to loose it like that? Everything alright?

I don't know if I would have been able to do something like that. That was great.

The big question is, Redyne...are you going to back to said store to get your items again? Or will you go somewhere else?

If it were me I would go back just to see the look on their faces :)

I'm having a similar week. I can completely relate.

I will go back, have to today in fact. I really needed some of those things, and I am not going to let that stop me from shopping where it is convient for me.

I think that the Chemo, the holidays, and my Mom being sick are too much right now. So I am unable to handle it all, and instead of saying so I go ballastic! Bad I know, but that's me!

I may go back to being nice in a day or two, I will keep you posted!

You should get angry and vent at the idiot cashiers more often. Too often it's a bunch of 16 year olds who don't give a rat's *** about the job or the customers. Give them a lashing every once in awhile to keep em in line. It'll also help with your stress!

As an ex cashier, I have to agree. I didn't give a rat's *** about the job. Hell, I ended up quitting by telling the boss to **** off and shove the job up her *** (though I had my reasons, she told me I couldn't go to a grandparent's funeral).

A pissy customer would've done me good. I probobly wouldn't have had my bad rapor with the company had someone slapped some sense into me during, instead of after, the fact.

Sounds like you had every right. In fact, I think you did us all a big favor by showing the cashiers not to fuck around when it comes to doing their job.

I give you pats on the back for doing the appropriate thing. And please, dont beat yourself up for something like this. You are human and are under more stress than any human should have to go through at once. I am amzaed at how cheerful you always are. But it is nice to see you take charge of a nsaty situation and set things right.

I would have loved to have been there. Smiley: clap

You're too good to bag your own food? ***** you, arrogant overpriveliged ****.

People like you, who won't even bother to bag your own groceries, even if it means speeding yourself along to the rest of your day, but get upset when someone doesn't do it for you are exactly the kind of **** for brains asswipes that need a good *** kicking.

Here's a few simple rules you can use to help make life easier for everyone at the grocery store check out aisle.

1- Bag your own damned food.
2- If you are not paying with cash, make sure you have your check (already filled out) or debit/credit card handy. This does not mean somewhere in the bottom of that portable junk pile you call a purse. This means in a place where you can get it and hand it to the clerk or swipe it through the machine in less than ten seconds.
3- Bag your own damned food.
4- If you're paying cash, have it ready just like the check/card above.
5- Bag your own damned food.
6- and most importantly of all, bag your own damned food.

Idiot.

Doesn't matter if they don't care about the job, first instinct when a customer gets crazy is to calm the customer. Do it every time, it feels good. Be like,"WTF?! Can you please focus?!!? I can't watch you two circle jerk right now!" And if he dares to trip after that say,"GFY." and THEN leave. You gotta give them a chance to beg for forgiveness.

Why would I want to bag my own groceries when I am paying through higher prices for someone else to do it?

If I'm at a store where I am paying less, and it has no baggers, and I understand that I have to bag my own stuff then it's fine but I choose to goto a store where I pay a little more so someone else will take care of it.

Good job Redyne.

If your job is to bag groceries then shut the fuck up and bag groceries. If you don't like your job go do something else.

Speaking of arrogant overpriveliged twats...your a fucking moron, Deathwysh.

Here, let's look at it at an Employer's point of view.

You want my money. You need to earn my money. You earn my money by completing a task. Your task is to bag groceries.

Was that simple? I hope so. If I pay you to bag someone else's damned groceries, you better f
ucking do your job or go back to www.careerbuilder.com. Your a bag boy, bad enough I don't expect MUCH of you to start with...now your also going to fuck around on the job and feel "insulted" someone got mad at you for not doing your job?

GFY, you horrible combination of sperm and ova.

I am much more evil than you Rednye.

Im not sure if I recall right now but are you going through or recently been through Chemo right?

If that was the case I would have talked to the Store Managers. The threat of a cancer victim spreading the word of mistreatment by a local area business is about the most awful thing the store managers could hear.

I'm pretty sure I could have turned it into a scene of tremendous proportions which would have not only made my day more interesting but possibly gotten me some free groceries.

I know your in poor health Rednye but as an official asylum poster I expect better from you. You could definitely cause more shit than what you did.

Right.

Is bagging a standard in every grocery shop over there?

I mean, if someone went nuts because I didn't bag the groceries I would tell her to remove her *** from my store before I bagged her.

But I'm guessing 'bagging' it's a standard service in the UK.

I'm too good to finance a bagger with my grocery bill when said bagger isn't interested in bagging my groceries, yes.

I don't know about the UK, but in my part of the States, all the stores have baggers. And most stores here still offer to take your bags to your car for you.

Sounds like you're shopping at the wrong stores.

If you told me to "Remove my *** from YOUR store before you bagged me" I promise you I would not be paying for my order and I would make it a point to stand there and laugh as you were fired.

Most baggers do not own stores. Bagging is a standard service at establishments that employ baggers, hence the title "Bagger"

It's people like you who make excuses for mediocrity that allows mediocrity to fester. Welcome to America, guess what, we have a service economy. The cornerstone of a service economy is that you pay not only for goods, but services as well. It may not be a big deal to you to bag your own groceries. I dont think anyone here is saying that Redyne is incapable of bagging groceries either. The point is, those people get paid to provide a service to the customer and if they slouch on that then perhaps they needed to be called out.

Hello, my name is ***** and I DON'T live in the UK nor the States. Baggers aren't normal over here, the customers bag the groceries themselves.

But thanks for flaming my question, mighty decent of you.

Correction, in my case my boss would laugh at the customer if he/she were so stupid as to file a complaint. We don't bag the groceries for people as a standard service, I repeat, we do not.

No customer over here is lazy enough to make that demand.

It's not a "demand", it's an expected service that is part of what you're paying for. I am, for instance, quite capable of setting my own kitchen table but when I go out to eat I don't expect to have to get my own silverware from the kitchen just to prove how "not lazy" I am. If you want to pretend moral superiority because you bag your own groceries, go for it. At least know what you're talking about first, though.
