I just got my yearly assessment back today, it was all good, "superior" as usual.

When I got to the OIM's (Offshore Installation Manager) comments I was flabbergasted to read.

"Reinman's performance over the past year has been credible."

I immediately thought of Princess bride's "I don't think that word means, what you think it means."

This man makes $10,000 USD/month plus bonuses, he is in charge of a $300,000,000.00 drill ship.

Furthermore, he had the cheek to go on and say that I needed to work on my Portuguese.

Can anyone see the irony in all of this?

Well, don't feel pregnant. Things could be worse.

I haven't SEEN an assesment in two years. Before that, I wrote my own and had the boss sign it, got screwed once, and had another no-assesment year.

See? It could really suck. You could be me.

Or it could really suck and you could be one of the millions of people Shrub thinks do poorer work than Malasian children.
