For those who remember, a couple of months ago myself and a number of the various left slanted people were making fun of Bush's new "abstinence" sex ed policy.

Well 4 or 5 months later here is an update:

A congressional staff probe has revealed that sex ed classes, backed by the administration of President George W. Bush (news - web sites), that preach abstinence for US teens feature incorrect or misleading information about the safety of condoms and the risks of abortion.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=1413&e=2&u=/afp/20041202/hl_afp/us_education_sex&sid=96001005

Here are some of the most glaring faults of Bush's new 170 million dollar sex ed plan:

  • [/li] touching another person's genitals "can result in pregnancy

    [li]
  • that condoms can help transmit the AIDS virus

  • [/li]that ************ "can result in pregnancy

    [li]
  • that five to 10 percent of women who have had legal abortions will be unable to conceive in the future

  • [/li]exposure to sweat and tears as risk factors for HIV ransmission

    [li]
  • pregnancy occurs one out of every seven times that couples use condoms

  • [/li]While a man needs little or no preparation for sex, a woman often needs hours of emotional and mental preparation

    [li]
  • condoms fail to prevent HIV approximately 31 percent of the time

Expect the number of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases to sky rocket.

In all fairness, Bush may have been basing that off personal experience.

Could be right, if you might notice, he is pretty anti condom.
Means he has unsave sex with his wife. (Unless the use the pill or something)

So two kids (he had two right?) means around two times sex in his whole live.

So you can conclude his wife needed a HUGE amound of time for emotional and mental preparation!

(Ok this wasn't good english but I'm a bit to tired to check spelling and grammar)

Pfft. I do more preparation than she does in putting on the rubber. During which she keeps telling me "You're taking too long!" Smiley: blush

I actually heard about this on The View Friday. It shows the agenda of Republicans, Conservatives, and the religious right. The best thing we can hope for is that it will be blown to hell and back on the news and that everyone can hear about this.

The misinformation about HIV though. That fu'cking infuriates me.

    Republicans, Conservatives, religious right= {lies}

I can't wait to hear the reply from the Bush administration. If they even give one.

They'll call it the "Clean Sex Act" and say it helped reduce smog pollution over the last 10 years by 30%.

  • This little comment reminded me of a little story of this guy who used a friends condom before having sex with a girl, a used condom that was used by the friend that is. Though they seemed like they must have been very close friends I think this is a way you could have condoms help transmit the aids virus.

    Wow. That takes the cake.

And let me assert myself again. This was the religious right and the conservatives doing. We really should just hold them responsible in the way that they like to point their finger constantly at us.
