Is that your cornea burning?Follow

I said I would let people know one way or the other what I decided, and I'm too lazy to look for the original thread.

So yeah, I'll be getting LASIK in December.

The actual surgery will take place on the 22nd, with pre-ops on the 20th and 21st to measure and re-measure my eyes, a post-op checkup on the 23rd, and then another post-op checkup sometime in December.

I have -5.25 in both eyes, so I'm more or less blind without my glasses/contacts. As a point of reference, I can't see the giant E without my glasses/contacts. This will pretty much be a miracle for me.

I also have thin corneas and large pupils, so my surgery is going to be a little more expensive than what most people need. All said and done the surgery will probably cost 4600 dollars.

Sorry man, I am tapped out right now. Just bought a new laptop. Maybe after the holidays.

I had mine done last January and haven't regretted it for a moment. I ended up 20/20 in my left and 20/30 in the right.

The only draw back is that I lost some of my close in ( 0 to 6" ) focusing ability, which was all that I had at the time. Super fine print takes reading glasses these days. Still I really like being out of glasses for 99.9% of my viewing.

let me know how it gos. I've been interested in this for myself. And $4600 is that per eye or total? If it's total, it sounds cheap when you compare it to having decent eyesight and not having to pay for prescriptions on contacts or glasses.
Godd luck with it!

I would be interested as well in knowing how it went. I will soon be undergoing this surgery myself and this would ease some fears.

When it's done can you get back to me with the answer to a question that's bothered me?

How do they hold the sharks with "Laser Beams" in the right position?

Sure, I'll let everyone know how it goes, assuming I can still see at that point.

The 4600 is for both eyes, and is rather on the expensive-side of things for LASIK in general. Of course, that's my fault, or my DNA's anyway.

My pupils are large and my corneas thin, which means that they have to use some of the more advanced technologies (i.e. expensive) to achieve the desired results. Man, people with thick corneas have all the luck.

Actually I guess people with perfect vision have all the luck. ***** them anyway.

Am I the only person happy enough to be wearing glasses? Actually, I think I look better in glasses than without but that might just be me being used to seeing them. Of course, if I was near blind I might feel differently.

See if you can just get bionic eyes or something.
