Anyone else heard it yet? I picked it up over the weekend. Let me start by saying I love APC and Tool both, but, this album fell really short in my opinion. I can definitely see what Maynard and Billy were shooting for. Remixing anti-war songs of the Vietnam era was just a reach for them I have to say. I think they tried to make them angsty/moody like their other music and it just didnt transfer over well. In my opinion there are only a few tolerable songs on the whole album. Other opinions?

yeah, I always think they should be put to punk/ska/reggae, not metal.

I haven't had a chance to check it out as of yet, but being an APC fan I'll have to eventually. So far I've heard mixed reviews from friends. Some say it's really good others feel it's kinda lacking.

Yes I was disappointed as well. I was surprised, usually anything Maynard touches is excellent. OH well, there should be a new Tool album out soon.

eMOTIVE is a good CD IMO. Now where does it rank compared to everything else Maynard has done? At the bottom. I think when you compare it to other APC albums it certainly falls short but, compare it to your average CD and it is still a good album.

I think track 2.Imagine, is a great John Lennon re-make and my favorite track on the CD. Other noteable mentions goto Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums, Lets Have a War, and Passive.

On another note the aMOTIVE DVD with bonus remix CD is suppose to be really good, although I have not heard it yet. It has remix's of songs from their first 2 CD's.

Imagine and Passive are the only good songs on the album. I'm glad I didn't buy it.

I have not heard this album at all. I only own the very first Perfect Circle album and was just mildly impressed with it. I like Tool a WHOLE LOT more and own every one of those CDs. I don't know, Perfect Circle never did move me the way Tool moves me (if that makes any sense). Sorry if that goes against the grain of any Perfect Circle fans, but before you rate down take solace in the fact I still am a big fan of Maynard's work :)

Info on Amotion/Remix CD. The remixes were by far the worst except the constantly consuming remix of the hollow and a few others. I bought the album and shortly realized that the dvd was the best part of the album. The guitarist royally screwed the last hollow remix( Hollow, the bunk mix). It sounded like a cheap Moby rip off of the hollow. You can never go wrong with maynard. I paid 20 dollars(including tax) for a Great DVD and a wannabe linkin park CD. They remixed Judith, hollow, weak and powerless, the outsider, blue, and 3 libras, over and over again.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase and advise any Tool/APC fan to get Amotion. I read in rollingstone a while back that tool went back in the studios for the next album. So hopefully Tool will release a new CD soon.

I think they should create a new label of music for Tool/APC. They never truely fit in any one category.

You should go out and buy the Amotion DVD. It has the music video for "Imagine All the People". The way they covered the song fits into the video perfectly.

I think it is a great album.

Tool is finishing up recording their next album - it should be out towards the end of 2005

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. Seeing as APC and Tool are their own seperate entities. My Brother is the same way.
