I think you will get more help from EQ players if you say you're 12-16 years old.

Edit: Made the correct spelling of "you're" bold, in the correct spirit of this thread.

I'm positive you have many other things we could beat on you for but you're new here so until you let us know exactly how stupid and lame you are you'll have to settle for attacks on your "grammar".

Of the 3 years I wasted playing EQ, EQOA, Planetside and FFXI I noticed (with the unfortunate help from my SO that), teens will affiliate themselves with other teens and older players will affiliate themselves with players of their own maturity level and/or intellectual level. This doesn't apply towards guilds or grouping by the way.

So the 12 - 16 year old age group is ok, but aim higher!

So true. I get a similar picture, but a different place. Instead of the colliseum, I see a pit in a basement with tattered souls waiting for the next piece of meat to be thrown their way. Yours is better. Next time I see a new guy, I'm going to say,"RELEASE TEH LIONS!"

This thread is stupid...

But before jackas* Friar rates me down I'll say why.

You're making too big of a generalization based on too small of an incident. You get one situation where you're ignored and you suddenly think all the players of that game are rude or jerks?

I mean come on dude, for one, the game is still new, so chances are either:

The current players that are acknowledged and accomplished enough to spend a lot of there time helping people is too low in count.

Or...

No one knows and they don't think "I don't know" is a good enough response worthy enough of typing. Maybe they assumed that not saying anything would lead you to that assumption to begin with.

And I'm not flaming you on this light, so before you strike back at me like I robbed your whole family and sued you for tripping on your phone cable, know that I'm saying this like it's a true legitemate reason:

Your grammar might cause one of two scenarios:

Either people thought it was too hard to bother reading, so they just run past you and ignore you.

Or...

They think that your grammar is a reflection of how you are as a player/person and just don't want to deal with you.

EQ is the home of the powergamers.

expect no help. if you dont have a twink ranger on a second or third account you can multibox to get what you need, you dont belong playing EQ at all.

no one does quests in EQ, so dont expect anyone to help you with any. there is no point. any quest worth doing eventually requires a raid to complete, and the reward will never be as good as what you get in non quest raids, so you either raid with a large guild, or you do something close to nothing.

if you are not tagged by the largest guild on your server, no one wants to know you.

if you are not already level 70, with your epics complete, the laregst guild on the server doesnt want to know you either. nothing is more bothersome than rehashing content you left last year for some new recruit. they wont do it, so dont ask.

EQ is for people who spend 5 to 8 hours 4 or more times a week gaming. you do raids in EQ. that is all tghere is to it anymore. if you cant buy a lvl 70 toon, or multi box a few to level 70 in 30 days or so, you need to be playing something else.

that said, EQ is the ONLY game for powergamers. they have carved a niche for themselves, and there is no better game out for this type of player. they do powergaming better than anyone else out.

which is why WOW launched 6 more servers this month. WOW does casual gamming better than anyone else, and there are infantly more casual gamers playing video games than powergamers.

the world is ballenced. every EQ player has 3 or more accounts, WOW has 3 times as many individual players. its all good.

WoW was fun for about 4 or 5 months. It quickly lost it's luster, at least for me.

I think the true power gamers moved on to EQ2. And no, you don't have to be in the top guild and level 70 with epic etc etc in order to play EQ. If that was true, there would be quite a few less EQ players around, and my whole guild wouldn't be playing.

But coming from Shadowrelm, a definitive statement based solely on his opinion doesn't surprise me much.
