Yes, folks, it's that time of the year. As Thanksgiving draws near we collect our thoughts, look back fondly on a year gone by, and prepare our lists of those people, threads, and flames which warmed our hearts.

To help prime our memories, here is an incomplete list of catagories from years past:
  • Favorite poster
  • Best thread
  • Best flamer
  • Most helpful poster
  • Best/worst sockpuppet
  • Board idiot
  • Funniest poster
  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Poster Most Likely to Get Cornholed by an Alabama Black Snake
  • Ok, that was a gratuitous award for yours truly since I'm the only owner of such a trouser residing reptile on this board
  • Poster Most Likely to Go Postal
  • Honorary Thundra Clone Award

  • So on and so forth. Feel free to add to this list as you wish. Or not.

Edit: votes go in the other thread.

What's it matter. I'm the Susan Lucci of the forums anyway. In another year or so I expect to get an "honorary" award Smiley: laugh

Wait, you're saying you're the one most likely to get cornholed by an Alabama black snake. I didn't think those things could be both long and flexible enough at the same time!

The lists seem to change a bit from year to year, so I thought I'd throw out some various catagories-- some of which have been in each year's competition, others of which I made up off the top of my head. I am not adament about any particular number or criteria, but was just trying to get y'alls creative juices flowing.

    For instance:
  • Best Latino/latina or hispanic wannabe
  • My submission is Gitslayer as a sympathy vote. While we have any number of prospective yard maintenance workers here, Gitslayer is what I consider to be the hands-down choice for Beaner of the Year.

  • Funniest poster
  • Too many to count.

  • Poster Most Likely to Go Postal
  • Me, after filling this **** out

Edit: Formatting to make it look purdy.

    1) Grow a pair.
    2) Post a f'ucking list and tell people to shut the f'uck up if they don't like it.
    3) Tally the votes and announce it.

You candy ***. Are you worried about not being inclusive enough? Get that d'ick shortened. It's taking blood away from your brain.

    From last year's:
    Quote:
    Rules:

    1) You must vote for one person in each category (honorable mentions are encouraged but not required and score no points)
    2) No voting for yourself
    3) You must have 100 posts for your vote to be eligible - no sock puppet action!
    4) Edited votes are null and void.
    5) You must justify your vote, say why they are deserving
    6) Voting closes on the 23rd of December or if this thread drops off the page, whichever comes first.

    Categories:

    1) Favorite poster
    2) Best Flamer
    3) Funniest poster
    4) Most annoying troll
    5) Best sock puppet
    6) Worst sock puppet
    7) Best sig
    8) Poster with the least brain cells

I'm down with that selection, Jophiel. My only caveat would be that any thread or justification for selecting someone would have to have within the last year, not like the previous year where people were pulling stuff up from two or three years back.

Alright, so Jo's list is the official set to choose from. Sorry, Git, but I guess there's not gonna be a Favorite **** of the Year catagory. I tried, buddy.

Favorite poster: Smash, because he always gives people a run for their money and is an honest debator.

Best thread: Oh No, someone touched a nerve, just cuz

Best flamer: RPZip, although he doesnt flame he sure puts people in check

Most helpful poster: Pickle, he's good at keeping the idiots away

Best/worst sockpuppet: Pocksuppet because that made me laugh

Board idiot: JayGCN, I'd say Varus but at least Varus' little hamsters in his head actually go for a jog before he hits the post button occasionally... very very occasionally..

Funniest poster: Sorry can't choose one, everyone's cracked me up from time to time

Lifetime Achievement Award: Oh hell it's gotta be Jophiel, he is consistently intelligent and amusing.

Poster Most Likely to Get Cornholed by an Alabama Black Snake: Gbaji, do I really need to explain?
Poster Most Likely to Go Postal: Katie, because she already is postal.

Honorary Thundra Clone Award: There will never be another Thundra
    #15 Nov 19 2004 at 3:34 PM Rating: Decent
My favorite poster: I have 3. Totem, Prince Pickleprince and Atomic Flea.

Best Flamer: Oh god, you are ALL brutal.

Best thread? I don't know, I like the one where you all called me names when I couldn't get my avatar to work.

    Lifetime Achievment? Jophiel, no doubt.

    Board Idiot? (me)

    Sockpuppets? They all suck.

    Funniest Poster? Skeeter

Most helpful? Totem, or atomicflea or MistressNadenu

Poster most likely to get cornholed? Varus

And last but not least for me, the biggest ******** on the face of the earth, All big and powerful, tries real hard to be mighty, but really is a sweety is Moe.

I propose leaving out the EQ bits though. We're sovereign territory now.

Just as long as it's not a "lifetime achievement" award you're okay, Earwig.

    Edit: ACK! Lifetime Achievement alert!

Earwig, I'm so, so sorry. Smiley: cry

Definately need a best avatar and best newbie.

I hate giving awards for trolling, spamming, sockpuppets, etc since those aren't really things I care to laude people for.

To little to late, Moe. You ain't consistant enough to be hated, although you do do a good old man impression.

We need a "Poster that copied Skeet more than any other poster" award too.

You know that's gotta take some commitment.
