Hostettler mounting campaign to change the name of Interstate 69

By August Wayne, THG News

John Hostettler, the Congressman representing the 8th district of Indiana, has been convinced by local religious groups to introduce legislation in the House that would change the name of an Interstate 69 extension to a more moral sounding number.

There are plans to extend the interstate from Indianapolis through southwestern Indiana all the way through Texas into Mexico in the coming years. While most believe this highway will be good for the state’s economy, religious conservatives believe “I-69” sounds too risqué and want to change the interstate’s number.

Hostettler, a proponent of the interstate extension, agrees. “Every time I have been out in the public with an ‘I-69’ button on my lapel, teenagers point and snicker at it. I have had many ask me if they can have my button. I believe it is time to change the name of the highway. It is the moral thing to do.”

When did we revert back to the Middle Ages?

I wonder if he considered the possibility that they were laughing at him because he was out in public with a fucking button bearing the name of an interstate on it.

Some people have far too much freetime on their hands.

bah, morality is in the eye of the beholder anyway. Our morals in the U.S. are different from the set of morals people have in Russia, or India, or Ethiopia, or anywhere else.

I hate when people use that word, as it's so broad and so opinionated. I really really hate it, and it's been pissing me off because everywhere I look, the word is there.

But the best part about it is that if you ask someone what their morals are, most of them will list things they have broken. Changing your mind, or going back on a belief is being hypocritical, and I hate hypocrits as well. Although, at least hypocrits amuse me.

K, I'm done now.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate the word morality and I hate hate superbly abhor with a supreme disgust unimaginable hypocrites.... ok, now I'm really done

Nah. I'd say that the liberal nutjobs are laying low. This guy was always out there, but he's about as entertaining as watching termites produce sawdust, so he couldn't draw any attention until everyone shut up about the election crap.

the bible is full of sex, i don't get these conservatives who talk about moral values...

...and notice that it's always the conservative republicans who are bringing up how bad and evil all these sexual theme's are...like that other topic about Congress studying the effects of ****...

republicans gotta quit bein' afraid of sex...we're the only country in the world that's afraid of sex on one hand, yet using it to keep the economy going on the other...

Bullsh1t. Bush gets elected so the media tries extra hard to print stupid f*cking stories about nutjobs and make it seem like they are normal Christians in order to disassociate the Middle ground with the right. Its been a source of bias for years now and its only going to get worse the more and more people whine and ***** about the election results.
