Officers Accused Of Brutality Placed On Leave
SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP)- Four Springfield police officers accused of roughing up a school principal are on administrative leave. The decision was made Monday by the state-appointed control board that is overseeing the city's finances. Mayor Charles Ryan, who is a member of the board, says the panel has ultimate control over personnel matters for city employees. The president of the police patrolmen's union is calling the move "outrageous." The principal, Douglas Greer, says the four officers dragged him from his car while suffering a diabetic seizure in convenience store parking lot. A man who says he witnessed the incident says the officers kicked Greer and hit him with a flashlight. "I looked out the window and just seen the police beating the principal for no reason. His face was hanging, I mean he was bleeding from his face profusely." said Corey Sullivan. "I felt that the police were doing there job they couldn't get into the car he was incoherent, he didn't respond to anything and I think they were just doing their job and I don't feel he should file criminal charges if anything he should be thanking us," said Richard Congdon who works at the gas station as a clerk.
Explain to me how beating a man thats having a diabetic seizure, until he's bleeding profusely constitutes "just doing they're job"? I mean...what were they thinking?
"Hit him again, Edward! He's still shaking!!!"
