So I'm in the market for a laptop. I've looked at alienwares area 51. Its quite nice. But, before I jump on that train and pay 3K for a laptop I want some input. I'm looking for a laptop I can do my home buisness on and that my husband can take TDY with him. I dont want some cheap crapolla laptop. I want one I can run DAOC well when out on vacations, I want one that I can hook a foot pedal, earphones and other external devices that I will be aquiring for my job. So here's what I've somewhat know that I need. 1G of ram, perferably Gforce 4600 or up, pentium 4, either linux or windows.. perfer linux. Any suggestions?

I have an Area 51 I won off a Far Cry Sweepstakes. You forget its a laptop it runs so smooth. It handles games very well and would undoubtably handle anything your job could throw at it.

I have a Dell Inspiron that I got almost a year ago. Never had any problems with it, the customer service is top notch, and I'm able to run FFXI / WoW on it at full performance without it skipping a beat. By the way, go with the widescreen (I have 15+) if its an option ... makes watching Dvds so much better.
