The karma system blows.

Everyone above 3.00 rate posts down just to demonstrate how they're the bigger league.

Who invented this karma system anyway and for what reason?

Those with Sub-Default rating are all pretty hardcore posters here, contributing with some nice stuff. Some people just have a grudge against them and because they did various sexual favours to the devs (and because they find their only joy here as they can show of their manhood like the brutes they are), they are able to quickly put a user down to a Sub-Default rating expelling them from the boards (normal filter settings).

Since the majority of the users here are kids (yes Smash, you heard me) I find it rather below my standard to actually try and fight it. But hey, what can I say. You elected an asshat for President so I think I'm entitled to make a ****** thread, eh?

Btw, due to the new family filter laws you're no longer allowed to write obese words or abbreviations like GFY or FTFY (it's not an obese abbreviation, but c'mon, who came up with that ****?)

If they were contributing to anything other then the general decline in I.Q on this forum we wouldn't be rating them down, that includes you by the way.

I use default filter nowadays. Every once in a while I switch to Never filter, roll my eyes, and quickly switch back.

What about the sporatic post counts? You don't envy those?

FYI below 3.00 does not make sub-default. I believe it's 1.50 that's sub-default, which takes some doing to accomplish. I'm at 2.87 which doesn't allow me to rate, but does not get filtered.

Anyways, I believe that most of the active posters here are in their 20s or more, so if you want to demean us, you'd have to call us "childish" or "child-like" instead of "kids". I mean, it says something when a good deal of us have or are having our own kids.

Deb, I'd help get you over 3.0 but I recall a thread a long time ago where you asked me to do that so you could rate my 'dumb ***' down.

Skeet, I believe that was the thread early on in the new forum's life when you wanted to retain all the regulars' post counts and such from the old boards. I think I was being a whiny little ***** over the sockpuppet drama at the time.

So I got the word obscene wrong.. My bad, I know that obese means fat and that obscene was the word, but my mind went blank for a minute or two. That never happens to you or what?

So I whine about the karma system. Sure, it's easy for you to stand up and cuss at me because you're all friggin Scholars and Sages (and schizofrenic in Skeet's case). What has happened to this board? You can no longer post on the Out Of Topic board without getting rated to hell and back again (or sometimes you're just left alone down there).

You all post about election and that ****. I don't care at all about the friggin election and you got like 40 posts about the **** out there. If you reply on any of the posts you're gonna get flamed by the random flamers, elite flamers or the ones who doesn't agree with your oppinion. Need I say that the karma system isn't a "rate his performance or relevancy"-poll. It's a way of removing spammers and trolls or whatever you call them automatically without having to put 20 admins on a fulltime job.

I can't even take a **** on these boards without written approval from at least 4 of you bastards and even then some *** will rate me down on a thread I posted 3 weeks ago. It sickens me that you can't say what's on your mind without having to worry about the evil leet board scanners who apparently have loads of sparetime at work. Everytime a person is rated above 3.00 he or she becomes an admin-like user with the ability to kick other users down the stairs so ******* hard you won't believe it.

It's easy for the elite unit of posters in here because they have enough "fans" to rate them up and prolly a connection or two with the administration. They can hover around with their 4.59 rating and 12k posts, spam, cuss and humiliate other posters and those posters can't do jack about it (because they're below 3.00 in rating).

What kinda sick rule is that? Sure, you need to remove certain posters who provide nothing usefull to these boards, but I'm not talking usefull to be something you determines. It's useless writing "suck my c*ck you c*nt" 20 times in a thread, but it's not useless to say your opinion as long as it's not filled with swearing and stuff. I find as much usefullness in a thread about the English grammar as I do in a thread about the recent election. They both entlighten me in different ways.

Get this into your mind:

Do NOT rate posts down just because you don't agree with the poster.
Do NOT rate posts down just because you don't find the post relevant.
Do NOT rate posts down just because others have done so.
Do NOT rate posts down just because you don't like the person.

DO rate posts down if the person is being rude.
DO rate posts down if the person contributes with nothing but spam and such.

The rate system is meant to sort out the useless from the usefull posters.

You'll prolly pull a lot of GFY out after I'm done with this, but please don't. It's not usefull for me to know you want me to go **** myself. Keep your perverted thoughts to yourself or you'll have to rate yourself down. Please don't correct my typos. I know there are some, including a misspelled 'oppinion' up there. I know I can't write perfect English and I don't intend to, but I'm doing my best. I don't flame analphabetic people so please think twice before rating posts.

I didn't intend for this to be a whining post about how unfair it is that you get to be Sages and Gurus. I just think the rate system is being used the wrong way. You might just turn my own words against me, it seems to be the standard response to any post in here. You're gonna write something like this:



"You're not contributing with anything usefull, GFY."

or



"FTFY"

I don't find that amusing at all. In fact I find it very childish of you to do such a thing. It's kindergarten responses. "Nu-uuh, you're the biggest tard".

So, do what you want with my rating, but try and pretend like you actually understood what I just wrote. If you don't realize that something is really wrong with the rating system here, then you're truly screwed.

And then you try clicking the rate scroll bar to get him below 1.50 so that the filter will remove him for you?
