We're still one nation...Follow

#1 Nov 02 2004 at 10:51 PM Rating: Excellent
I do not intend this to take away from any of the other discussion currently taking place, but I would like you all to keep one thing in mind.

Regardless of who wins this election, and as of this moment it could truly be either candidate, we will remain one nation. Regardless of how the candidate you support defines it, each does indeed believe in the concepts of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Regardless of whether or not you agree with how they define it, this country, this great American Experiment, will charge on. I for one certainly hope that we can all remember that in the weeks and years ahead.

I kind of figured if Bush won, the NE, great lake and west coast states might want to consider succeding from the US and joining Canada. Let the Confederates finally get that country they always wanted.

Call me cynical, but I doubt America is quite ready to unite behind a NEGROS.

Just sayin'.

In all seriousness, I am proud and humbled at the voter turnout today. It's kind of amazing, really.

I would not be surprised at all if open fighting occured from the election. Whichever side wins or loses, with how heated this election has been, there will most certainly be a few riots. I think people are just waiting for the results to find out which side has to start the fighting.

Both candidates are crooked as hell, and I despise both with a passion. Voting Independant does as much good as crumpling up the ballot and throwing it away. So I decided I'd vote to keep the crook we already know, because Kerry might come up with new and inventive ways to f*ck us whereas Bush isn't that original.

Though, I must admit that my viewpoint is skewed by 8 years in the military, and I'm only looking out for my best interest. Republicans may give it to us in the ***, but at least they'll give us the courtesy of a reach-around. The Democrats won't, and they'll do us dry.

Doubt it. Much as I like to break things and steal TVs, I don't see where it'd help Kerry into office.

Rioting would be silly at this point. It's a fair and square win, and contrary to conspiracy theories the President does go through the proper channels to get what he wants done. I just hope things go a little better than they have over the last four.
