As the year draws to a close, there have been several references to "The Best..." this, that, or the other in the forum.

Are there agreed categories? If not, may I open the stakes with some suggestions for the 2004 Assylum Awards:

  • Best Troll I nominate Varussword
  • Best Sock
  • Best Flame
  • Best Avatar (Mentioned only because I clearly won)
  • Best /Hijack
  • Best FTFY
  • Best use of the word 'Asshat'
  • The 'Totem Memorial 'RACK' award

  • and

  • Worst FTFY
  • Worst Smack down
  • Most pathetic Avatar
  • Most blatant and obvious ill-judged troll attempt
  • Worst Flip-Flopper

  • and

  • Sexiest Male Poster (May require a reposting of photos)
  • Sexiest Female Poster (May also require a reposting of photos)

    Best Commie Pinko Award
Best Annoying Commie Pinkos Friend Award (I've pretty much won that already)

We normally do these towards the end of November start of December and there are normally other categories that I can't remember at the moment. That being said I see no reason to not start them earlier.

The great switchover from the BBS board happened last November so there may well be evidence of last years Awards if you are interested in finding out the other catagoreis and such.

I've found the Allakhazam Awards for 2003 but was thinking of Asylum awards.

    What think?

  • Oh, and if it helps, here's the 6-month Awards that were semi-participated in, but were quickly shot down.

I was KRSkeet on the old forum (ubb) I had it changed to "Skeeter" a little bit after the move to these forums.

But don't get me mixed up with the sockpuppet named "KRskeet", note the Capital 'S' on my real old user name. Plus, the real KRSkeet will have my avatar up, and sig, of course.

Apparently, the lower the quality and higher the frequency at which I post, the more popular I become. This saddens me, because it means that Skeeter is a shoe-in for every category next year.

Lol, if so I guess pickle will be stealing this years awards.

    I don't spam anymore. :)

Why didn't the nanme change on the old posts if your avatar, sig, and post counts do?
    #19 Oct 31 2004 at 9:40 PM Rating: Good
That's a question to bring up to the Programers. Most likely because they don't feel it's needed enough to warrant spending time on doing it.

Plus, I recall some funny jokes that wouldn't be all that funny if my name changed on all of my posts. Like This one
