christ almighty...the only thing pro-Bush people have against Kerry are piddly little votes. They mention these minute items simply because they can't possibly back the decisions their candidate made.
Plus...this isn't a senate race children...this is a presidential race. You must compare Bush's four years as president, the accomplishments and failures he's made, and then contrast that with what Kerry said he could do. Yes, it's a gamble. Kerry has no experience being president.
So you must look at Bush's record in just the past four years.
2000- Bush's brother helps get Bush elected by hiring outside firm to wipe 95,000+ voters from Florida's voter rolls.
2001 (early) - Bush spends lots of time on vacation. Ingores "Bin Laden Determined To Strike U.S." memo (probably because the guy couldn't read it)
2001 Sept. 11 - Under Bush's watch, bin Laden's gang strikes U.S. in worst terrorist attack ever. Immediately following word, Bush gets airborne and flies around the country (probably calling daddy to find out what next to do)
2002-2004 - To spare you people a long list of what Bush has messed up in these years, I'll give you a fairly brief recap. Bush said Saddam was suddenly a grave and immediate threat to the safety and security of the American people. So without U.N. (or world) approval we attacked pre-emptively. Bush had no exit strategy, and months into the invasion went on a crazy photo-op off California's coast declaring "Mission Accomplished." What followed was 1000+ U.S. casualties and an independent investigation into 9/11 (that Bush opposed, then allowed...called flip-flopping by the conservative crack-pots), which found that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and that Saddam was not an immediate threat to the United States. Peachy. So why are we there again?
Meanwhile Bush gives back lots of money to rich people, while cutting health care benefits for veterans. This so-called "conservative" took a projected record surplus (the surplus was actual around $240 billion) and transformed it into projected record deficits (the deficit currently is near $400 billion). That's not very fiscally responsible.
Throwing out the science of the "Global Warming", allowing polluters to once again heavily pollute our skies via the completelly misleading name "Clean Air Act", creating a "partial birth abortion" act and signing it in a room full of men (the name alone, partial birth abortion, is a fantasy. The actual term is "late term abortion", and the problem with the law, aside from the obvious restriction of choice is that there are absolutely no exceptions if the woman's health is at risk. Amazing for a piece of legislature that affects ONLY women, but signed into law ONLY by men. What century is this again?), giving Cheney's former company no-bid contracts to reconstruct Iraq, underfunding programs such as the No Child Left Behind, etc, etc, etc.
Folks...you can attack Kerry all you want...you can nit-pick at the little things he has done. Yes, his career is not exactly the most stunning in the world. But considering the state the world is in right now, we need to get rid of Bush and put someone in whose actually going to think.
Sorry this post is lengthy...I get very agitated when I hear anyone's pro-Bush argument, because it is never an intelligent one. No one has any real instances where Bush policies have helped this nation or helped the country. "We're safe now". You really think so? How many times has the crayola-influenced Homeland Security Terror Threat Level been raised and lowered since 9/11? How many people have died in Iraq? If Bush is actually elected this time around, I guarantee you by 2008 that more people will have died in Iraq than in the 9/11 attacks by al Qaeda.
Quit watching Bush's TV station, Fox News Channel. Quit believing every god damn thing your friends tell you. Do some research into the facts, find out what others think, find out what the world thinks. And for christ sake...get out and VOTE!
