What's the deal with popups? I pay for this? The banner's are bad enough, but popups? Ouch guys.

If you're "paying" I assume you have premium. If you have Premium+Ads, it's because you have scumware on your system pushing pop-ups through. Run the latest updates of Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D.

If you are paying for premium, you should get no banners or popups. Check at the top of your screen, if it says "Welcome laviont" then you are logged in as a premium member. If it shows a banner ad, you are not premium. If you do have a "Welcome laviont" section and are getting pop ups, your computer is infected with spyware. All popups from our site are loaded via the banners. If you don't see a banner, it isn't us.

If you are infected, you can head over to the tech support forum for instructions on how to remove it.

Except for that GAIN installer pop-up. It opens a pop-up, but in the background so the Google Toolbar can't close it, and then it prompt me because it really, really, really wants to install some f*ckware on my computer.

Have I ever told you about the time GAIN buttf*cked my computer while installing some sh*tware?

edit: I'm a speed-typer, go figure.

TEH SPYWARE!

Spybot S&D > Adaware

I have a really annoying blue toolbar that opens up once in a while when I'm using IExplorer. The problem is that..

a) ...it don't show up when I use Spybot, Ad-Aware or any other program.

b) ...the bane if the process is IEXPLORER.EXE which makes it really hard to close it down just like that. I might end up closing down the IE window and not the toolbar.

You might be right. I just run 'em both since it's not like it costs me anything.

I'd run Spybot before then Adaware and had it pick up things. and vice verse (that's with quarantine off).

If you have odd object in IE, open spybot and use advanced mode. Goto tools and check off BHO's. That will enable BHO editing. Then click the BHO section on the left pane. Anything with a green check should be ok. If somehting is questionable, you can remove it. I think they have a red x on them if they are known bad.

Also Sypbot by default ignores some products for whatever reason. Goto settings / Ignore products and look for check marks. New.net exploits are preselected.

Come again? Where do I check off BHO?

I selected Show Report, there was a mark at "Include BHO in report" that I removed. But nothing happened.

OOOOOOOOOOh. I figured it out, I only signed up for 3 months. Anyway, do you even know how much more powerful the risc based processor of the Macintosh is?

The left side has show report, but the large section in the middle has large icons with check boxes. One of them is BHO. Once it is checked, that tool will be available in the pane on the left.

Spybot 1.3 BTW.

Mac is good. No viruses ever, no spyware, no adware. Guess what. ********* COMES with spyware, they ENDORSE spyware, and they ACCOMMODATE spyware. For internet security, Macintosh is supreme. For ease of use and compatibility, Intel has more options. Well... you can run windows in macintosh, so... hmmm...

There are a few things that the newest version of Ad aware picks up better than Spybot, and there are a few that spybot does better. I use both, along with the javacool innoculation that works with S and D. plus hijackthis for problem cases.

Ah, mind blank was upon me.

Okay, I'm in BHOs, and there are like 10 entries with 4 green marks. No red at all.
