Interesting article on electronic voting machines. A lot of people claim that computerized voting systems will lead to our downfall, but in the end, it's all human corruption.
Now, what I really find amusing are the people who want to institute wireless voting systems, or hold absentee voting on the internet. That's just begging to get your *** hacked. I think voting machine software should be open-source and verified, use a proprietary open-source operating system, NOT be networkable in any way, and use only physical storage media, one unit per booth, which must all make it to the counting center, as well as produce a paper "receipt" for the voter and election official, to double-check totals. We had the technology to do this in the 70's. :P
What is everyone's opinion on this? It would at least stop the hanging chad problems.
