Drac...you poor misguided soul. Charity is bad, if it is given to make the receiver feel bad. But you tell me how feeding a hungry family, or giving a child a toy at christmas doesn't for that moment bring some joy?
I would hate to live in your world, we all may need help one day. I for one like to know that someone is willing to offer it!

I haven't bothered to reply to the attacks in this thread because:

A) I knew they were coming. (Who posts in the Asylum without expecting such, except for the terminally naive?)

B) I wanted to see where it was going. I don't feel a particular need to defend my motives or actions in this case.

C) I'm kinda busy at work, and will be until close to the end of the year, for the most part. I like it when I have interesting tasks at work and there's an abundance at the moment, so I'm not here as much, ******** off.

I will clarify that I made the post in hopes of demonstrating that the need for donations is real and that the final recipients of your generosity do show a heartfelt gratitude. If one extra person gives, then I consider it well worth my time to post.

I'm glad to see that so many posters do give to charity.

It's also good to see that somebody can figure out how it's evil to do so. Hooray for free speech.

For the record, I'm not affiliated with any political party. Pubs get my vote more often than Dems or Indies, but it's never a forgone conclusion.

if your'e going to read my posts with an open mind and read them for what they are then i'm open to critisism, but if your'e going to skim over it and decide that my entire argument equates to "charity is bad, i hereby give no reasoning whatsoever" then your'e not fit to talk to me

Dear Draco,

Normaly I wouldn't waste my time on a worthless skin sack such as your self, but knowing how young you are and that you still live at home with mommy and daddy makes what I have to say worth it. MOVE OUT AND GET A JOB! See how much fun the real world can be when no one is wiping your ass for you. Than you might have a valid point of view on what charity is and isn't. Until than I'll use one of my favorites and tell you to STFU!Also as a side note who keeps rateing this asshat up??

Jade

EDIT: My spelling sucks.

I have no promblem with others opinions its just Drac seems like a self informed, living at his parents house, never had to do for him self little shit and that even I have no promblem with just don't talk about shit you don't know about. I'd love for Drac to be poor for just one week. Than we would see what his true thoughts on the subject are.

Drac's trolling. Nothing more or less. He likes doing it and he's getting better at it, too. It's kinda fun to watch.

As for making him live poor for a week, I doubt that would change anything. He linked his pic here a few weeks back. Given a choice, I'd rather be poor. Smiley: eek

The first part of his post talking about trying to get rid of the excess food reminded me of that muffin episode of Seinfeld. :)

what i'm saying has nothing to do with being poor whatsoever, if i worked for myself, or if i lived with my parents, it makes no difference, poor people are poor because the capitalist system has made them poor, charity helps them, but it dose not make up for the damage the system does, a system that TStephens contributes towards

If i was poor, then i wouldn't have a different view, you speak as if i'm saying that we shouldn't help poor people, well why don't you take your head out of your *** and READ WHAT I'M FUCKING POSTING YOU FUCKING IDIOT
*ahem*
i'm not saying don't help poor people, i'm saying help them in a real way, don't put forward your contribution to the system that keeps them poor, and then give them scraps of food so you look like the generous noble person, it's not noble, it's arrogant and self-indulgent,

as for rating me up, nobody is, i rated myself up to guru with a rate when i was on around 100 posts, and it's taken this long for you all to get me down to scholar

self informed - mostly, but not entirely

living at his parents house - thats about right

never had to do for him self - ditto

little shit - well that a matter of opinion

They'd be even stronger than they are now, i imagine. They'd be "******** like TStephens and jade think that they're doing a good thing by giving me food and making sure i can't get it for myself? jade thinks that he/she is more intellegent than me because they don't understand what i've said, i've been fighting the case for poor people like me and he/she thinks i'm saying we shouldn't help the poor? that's just adding insult to injury, being patronised by somone has "moved out and got a job" yet has a fraction of my intelegence"

just be quiet jade, you're making yourself look foolish

I'd have to say your right, speaking to you won't change your mind in the slightest(because you have no real world experience). So there for me trying to explain the way things work to you won't help either. So if we are to look at the bigger promblem the "system" than how do you think we should change said "system"?? I'd love to hear your honest view on how to make the world better. Also what system says we have to be poor? I believe its a personal decision, either you live within your means or you don't. One last question to throw out at you, where are you from? Have you ever been or lived in America??

well thank you and your system for not making me poor then dracoid... it is really appreciated... it had nothing to do with me working hard and putting in extra effort...

if it wasn't for you and your society looking down on me so brightly i guess i would be a bum!

umm... could you fill me in on how society chooses who and who isn't going to be a bum...

Quote:

until you've walked that mile, you should stfu... you don't know what your "pov" would be like until you've been there...

i don't disagree with everything you say... but imo i think that you shouldn't make statments like this when you have a roof and food... i dunno if you live with your parents/on your own/goto school/work... and seeing as though this is the net i will NEVER really know...

but, if "TS" feels good about giving and if "TS" feels that his posting might get other people to donate, who are you to knock him, some ******** without a clue...

infact instead of knocking him, why don't you be a grow a pair and actually start posting solutions, and saying "change society" isn't a solution! its easier to hide behind society and say that its all their fault then to actually stand up and be heard!

-- so have fun... and keep up your trolling atleast your fun to laugh at!

Not in the slighest, I was just wondering where you base your opinions. Personaly I was brought up dirt poor white trash, I was amacipated from my parents at the age of 13(no I'm not looking for a pity party). I've had a full time job(and lived on my own) since than and on more than one occasion I've had three jobs at once. I also finished high school, and went to a Vo-Tech school for two years. What I'm saying here is that the poor have the option not to be(poor)in this country. If England is where your from than personaly I have no clue as to what the work situation is over there, seeing as I've never lived nor worked there. Here in America we have a choice to work and earn what we need and want or to live on the street like bums. So I'm still waiting for your answer as to how you personaly are gonna change the system? Tick Tock Tick Tock, I'm leaving my job now so Hopefully you will have an answer by morning.

Just Me,
Jade

P.S. to all that are intrested I'm 26 yrs old male from NYC. So for further notice I'm a him.
