Ive always found the Quickie
to be the more informative and humorous of the Page 2 articles.

I especially liked this

Does this offend you?

Hey, Red Sox: Who's Your Daddy?

Apparently, unless RSN fans are making their own "spirit shirts" (usually incorporating the words "Yankees" and "suck"), they can't take it.

Were they offended by the sentiment -- or that MLB itself produced the shirts? So MLB pulled the shirts (Hey, Red Sox: Don't Be Maddy?)

Why wouldn't Boston fans embrace the insult and turn it into a rallying cry? The same hyper-sensitivity keeps them from handling the pressure of beating the Yankees. "Why Not Us?" Exactly.

Why do they constantly whine about everything instead of creating rallying cries? reminds me of the cubs.

Totem, you are just being too cruel. FYI, I'm linking to this in the forum support board, in hopes you get banned. This is way beyond 'not for faint of heart.'

I think it hurts the Yankees and their fans more as they get restless waiting to close the series out while the BoSox get rejuvenated.

Because they are all Liberal Democrats up there. Why do you think I left.

Now about the Sox... this may not be the year. But "Wait till next YEAH!"

I'm not worried.

The Yankees won two games at home, when the Red Sox win two games at home the series will be tied. There will be another rain out along the way, allowing Schilling to pitch game 7 in heroic fashion and leave with a 9 run lead in the 8th inning.

Then the yankees will have three grand slams in the bottom of the 9th.

I'm a long time Red Sox fan. I don't bet on them unless I get good odds.

No, Krogs, it's just another 24 hours for the Sux to get pre-game Jeters, errr, jitters. They'll be so emotionally wrung out that there'll be a mass hallucination of The Babe calling his shot at the plate when the ump yells out, "Play ball!"

I dont know. Damon just broke out of his slump and the Sox pulled out a 4 run 2nd inning. So we have a 7 inning game here. If the Yankees win here it is over, but the sox have a good shot if they win.

Even if the Sox had won tonight, they would have to take 3 of 4, and this is not the jet-lagged Yankees that the Sox took 6 out of 6 from at the beginning of the season.

All in all it was very satisfying to watch the Yanks hand their red-headed step-children a sound thrashing. Looks like this series is not going to be the same kind of classic that we had last year.

Well, let's see what the SpankMees do against a REAL NL team.

St. Louis is going to beat the fuck out of them.

/sniff sniff

I smell dust in here-- I'd better get the broom out and do some sweeping...

How 'bout now? 19-8 make you start to get nervous? The Yankees were teeing it up against the Sux. It was fugly.

And pickle? The Cards lost tonight. At the rate of what we are seeing, the Yanks are going to be the World Series champs, as much as I'd like to see Houston win it. they are just putting on a clinic. They should be charging Boston an admission fee for the lessons.

Totem

PS: That's it for me tonight. These boards are waaay too slow for me to spend five minutes waiting for a page to load on a T1 line.

/nods agrees

not much to say here. Its all but certain that the Sox are done and there isnt much faith in the 'stros. The yanks are not the cards and the stros are not the sox. It should be a great series between the yanks and cards. On paper i take the cards, from the games tonight i would bet thousands on the Yanks.

/shrug. I'm a Red Sox fan. If they loose in 4 that's a kindness. Loosing in 7 is where the real pain is.

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a Yankees fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Yankees fans.

Everyone in the class raises their hand except one little girl. The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, "Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?"

"Because I'm not a Yankees fan," she replied.

The teacher, still shocked, asked, "Well, if you are not a Yankees fan, then who are you a fan of?"

"I am a Red Sox fan, and proud of it," Janie replied.

The teacher could not believe her ears. "Janie, why pray tell are you a Red Sox fan?"

"Because my mom is a Red Sox fan, and my dad is Red Sox fan, so I'm a Red Sox fan too!"

"Well," said the teacher in a obviously annoyed tone, "That is no reason for you to be a Red Sox fan. You don't have to be just like your parents all of the time. What if your mom were a moron and your dad were a moron,
what would you be then?"

"Then," Janie smiled, "I'd be a Yankees fan."

Pah-lease....It's going as I said. The Clemens game is the only they'll win.

You may be eating those words sooner than you thought. 'stros up 1 in the ninth. Beltran hit his 8th homerun of the postseaon in nine games bettering Bond's 8 in 17 games.

Yankees lose. Bad news for the 'Stros or Cards. Their only chance was to hope for a Yankee sweep of the Sox, thus making them get rusty waiting for the NLCS to finish, but since it's going home to New York, that'll keep the Yankmes fresher.

/barf

I'm watching this disgusting shit on HBO. It's about how the Yankees were destined to win the World Series in 2001 after 9/11 happened.

And they have these fu
cking yankees fans on saying "I really thought this was gonna be the year."

The year? They had won 3 WS in a row, and 4 out of the last 5 at that point!

And so when they get to the part when the Diamondbacks win, is it a celebration of that? No, it's sad tinkly piano music about how everyone pissed on the yankee's parade.

Gimme a break.

Lol, the Yankees are the MLB's version of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys, aka "America's team."

I agree with your /barf but can't have the Red Sox or the Cubs going out and causing Armageddon by winning. It's then that Bill Clinton would be revealed as the anti-Christ and we'd all have 669 tattooed on our foreheads.*

*No, that was not a typo.
