The fragmentation of the insurgent's alliance will only help stabilize Iraq's interim government. Civil war may yet be avoided. Between that and the mass grave found today will help convict Hussein, pull the country together, and let us leave Iraq in an orderly manner, as per the plan.

Germany's Schroeder said they would not under any circumstances send troops to Iraq. So much for Kerry's sweet talking our allies into helping us. Between that and his plan to implement the draft of college age students, it's looking like a lock for Bush in three weeks.

Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

If you ever see a man missing a leg with a gun, aimed at an American, make sure you ask him why. I'm sure his response would be,"They bombed my town when I was 5, they killed the badguys, but I was in the house next door, and I lost my leg. Someone must pay."

Ok, serious question: Totem, how do you feel then about the administration saying they won't conduct any major offenses against the insurgents until after the election?

I think it's playing politics, Jophiel. Military decisions should be left to the military. Period. Elections, Ramadan, whatever, if you are going to use the Army, give them free rein to kill whoever, whatever, and get out of their way. Once the enemy capitulates or is dead then the diplomats can go in there and mess things up to their own satisfaction till the troops are needed to indiscriminately kill people again.

Yeah, I guess he doesn't want to send lots of troops before the election "because he wants their votes...heh heh".

Can you please point me to where Kerry has claimed he wants to institute a draft? I have heard nothing but the opposite, but then again, I only read the L.A. Times, and follow the BBC, so I might not have found out what the CSM has to say about this.

Well, it's obvious! He hasn't denounced the draft, nor said he'd oppose it, therefore by Washington D.C. standards has tacitly stated he is planning on implementing it.

College students beware of Kerry! He wants to force you into military service for seven years after you graduate. You'll be peeling potatos, painting rocks, saluting your superiors, and singing ditties two weeks after you receive your diploma.

A co worker was telling me that the bill to reinstate the draft was actually created by a handful of Democrats.

I can neither confirm nor deny these reports.

I think that bill was extremely voted down. I think 1 repulican and 1 democrat voted yea, and everyone else voted nay.

A bill created by a republian (I belive) was brought out of the closet, dusted off, and voted on, so that everyone could say "I voted against a draft".

Was John Kerry one of these Democrats that supposedly created this bill?
