How did you get here?Follow

I'm curious as to what paths led the various denizens of the Asylum here in the first place.

For me, it was the EQ boards. Then a few posts here and there in OOT, with peeks into the Asylum. Of course, I eventually had to open my mouth here, to be gleefully greeted with,
'Now GFY, Asshat!'

These days, any place BUT the Asylum requires a bit of extra restraint when I'm posting. But, this is the only place that seems to have such a wonderful blend of personalities. A veritable chimp house at the zoo. Loud, with much poo-flinging.Smiley: grin

I wandered onto the EQ forums about 4 years ago when I started playing. I eventually just wandered in here, and when I saw all of the discussions going on I decided to join. I bought the premium feature to support Alla and his great database of information, it still continues to help me out when I get in a jam.

Well, first I said to myself "This is not my beautiful wife!"

Then I said "This is not my beautiful house!"

I'm a SWG player so I used Allakhazam to find info on the game. The Character Builder is pretty good (needs some minor tweaking though).

I stumbled across the "How to Become a Jedi" board and I progressed to here.

Lucky me w/e.

I started with the EQ forums also. Then I would read the OOT and occasionally post something. (this was back on the old forums)

I'm so gonna be beaten with the flaming stick for this... but you asked.

..... I..... I ...... *begins crying*..... I played F... F... FFXI! There, I said it. Happy now?

It gets worse.... I played it on the PS2....

Came here looking for quest info. I actually stoped playing about 2 months ago. Just kinda saw a button that said "asylum" on it and well, I never left. (Yea, much to your dismay I know.)

I posted regularly on Job forums for FFXI. I then posted something about the game on OOT. Got flamed hardcore and then started to post there about OOT stuff. I made a long post about the election and they said you would get a better response in the Asylum.

I'm here now, here to stay. That is of course until my fucking rating goes low like varus. Keep me around.

FFXI boards, felt like talking about things a little more reality based versus the usual "DRK pwns DRG!!!" topics.

It's actually been almost theraputic posting here.

I started on the EQ boards years ago but Never posted.

When FFXI came out i started posting on the FFXI boards.
It was different in the begining, when it was only a few of us FFXI newbies, struggling to find our way.

After awhile I noticed as more of us originals came to know most of waht there was to know, the newcomers to the FFXI boards replaced us..... but we had seen it and heard it all before. But I helped out when I could.

Then Once enough people complained about people posting Off Topic stuff on there... the Admins paved a road for some of us to come Here.

It was like another world.... and I jumped back and forth..... But as the familiar faces from the FFXI board became fewer and fewer... I found more stimulation from this Asylum.

and now i'm here.

I took a very very wrong turn. Ended up here. Before I realized what had happended, where I was, I was staring, open mouthed, not wanting to read what was in front of my eyes, but unable to draw them away.

Please! Someone show me the way out!

Once I accidently followed a group of guys into the mens room. This is alot like that.

I did a web search on "Hot Oral to ****" and the first google hit was the OOT of Allakhazam.

The second was your Mom's personal ad.

Needless to say, I hit both.

FFXI, but I can't stand their main board. Too many whiney 12 year olds. I got bored one night, and clicked onto the asylum, and saw a 200 post thread about Noah's Ark showing in on the CNN science page. I fell in love after that.

I visited the site for information in my DAoC days but never posted and then a couple weeks before the NA release of FFXI for PC I started posting on the FFXI board.

FFXI main sucked, I was getting sick of it and one day got linked over to the OOT forum. I got my *** kicked and flamed and shut up and started lurking for a long time.

I no longer play Daoc or FFXI but for some silly *** reason I am still here.

Mr. Tare used to frequent the EQ boards quite a bit. When I played EQ, I'd sometimes look at his threads and occasionally swing over to the OOT (before the ***-bin was created). There I witnessed some of Thundra's great debacles and scandals, as well as RPZip giving a certain someone on this board the flaming of a lifetime.

What can I say? It seemed like home. Smiley: wink
