All jokes aside.

Brett Favre is struggling again with emotional stress.

Last season his father died, Brett played that monday night and he played the best game of his life. Now less than a year later his brother passed away. He was riding an ATV on Brett's properity when the accident occured. Brett is curreantly playing on monday night football. He isn't having to great of a game but its still early.

/Salute Brett

/Pray for his family.

edit; sorry about no link, couldn't find one.

Yea, it sucks that when his family members die, his football suffers. Tragedy.

As a Chicago resident and avid Bears fan, anything that makes him retire earlier is a good thing in my book.

He had his BEST game ever when his dad died. Not his worst.

I have a hard time beliving Brett Farve lives for anything but himself. His admitted use of drugs and alcohol during the season shows he feels himself superior to his team mates.

Though this is his family, he should have taken time to be with his relatives who survive instead of showing his need above those who are closest to him when his father died. I doubt he will be there for his family again during this time of tradgedy, since the bright lights of MNF beckon to his ego.

Ok then, maybe they shouldn't have told him about his brother until the superbowl?

I'm a 49ers fan, so Green Bay will always be a hated team of mine. I mean how many times did Brett Farve knock us out of the playoffs? How many years in a row?! Goddam you Farve! I hate you! I HATE YOU!!!

But yea, sorry about his bro, tough loss.

You know, normal, average people have family members die all the time. Too bad none of them know the pain of dealing with a tragedy while getting paid millions of dollars to play a kid's game.

Farve is the most overrated Quaterback ever.

If he didn't market himself as the perret vehicle for every wannabe redneck tough guy football fan in the country he'd be considered average.

At any point during this time he could have hurt himself when driving, been suspended or had something equally disasterous happen. He put himself ahead of his team.

And you wouldn't?

Look out for number one.

Drawing the parallel between putting himself ahead of his teammates and not caring about his family is far feteched.

Just sayin'.

I wouldn't say average. Just looking at the cold hard numbers he compares pretty favorably to some other great quarterbacks.

I'm just saying he's overrated. He belongs in the hall of fame for his durability if nothing else, but he's about the 15th best QB of all time.

What about the numbers that can't be attributed to longevity?

Passer Rating and Completion Percentage?

They're old. Cullpepper is ahead in both as is Manning as is Warner as is McNair etc.

If you want to say he's the sixth or seventh best QB playing ATM I'd be fine with that.

Sure, in a fairly useless statistic. Unless you think Kurt Warner is the greatest QB of all time.

Not to diminish his family tragedy in any way, but it was his Brother-in-Law that died.

Quote:
Favre's brother-in-law died after crashing an all-terrain vehicle on the player's property in Sumrall, Miss., Wednesday night. Casey Tynes, 24, the brother of Favre's wife, Deanna, was riding the ATV without a helmet when it flipped, Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said.

He definitly isn't the best in the game ATM. However, he is probally the best 2:00 minute drill quarter back today if not ever.

What statistic do you want to use then, huh?

Kurt Warner has only played in 58 career games. So his QB rating is largely from his 3 excellent seasons 99-01. If he repeated those same statistics from those seasons over the course of a 13 year career, then yes, he would be one of the best all time.

You argue that the longevity statistics are useless because Warren Moon and Dave Kreig show up in them. Well, Moon and Kreig don't show up in the percentage statistics.

Then, you argue that the percentage statistics are useless because Kurt Warner appears in them. Well, Warner doesn't appear in any of the longevity statistics.

The fact remains that Favre is one of the few quarterbacks that ranks highly in all categories.

And saying that Passer Rating is useless because Warner ranks at the top of it is bad logic. That's like me saying that OPS is a useless statistic in Baseball because Travis Hafner had the 10th best OPS in the major leagues this season.
