Let's start like this:

Rule #1: dont put any down... yet. Let it get to the second page without flames. First give your rationale for what you believe.

What do you believe in?

My beliefs? I think that the Bible is a good story which helps to instill a system of values and morals into the common man. I believe that every major religion is just an oversized cult.

I also believe that, while there actually is a God, all these people who think you must worship him just like they do are egocentric and wrong. I'll thank him and give him praise, but worship him, no thanks.

So only one person isn't scared to say what they believe? Has this world stripped you of your soul? Have you no convictions?

What if my personal convictions included no soul, would I then be unable to post here?

Ok...as I mentioned in another post...I don't believe in God; I don't even believe in myself!

TILT
*Shrug* At the risk of being trite, I'm more spiritual than religious. I believe there's a Greater Power though I'm not convinced it actively seeks our worship. I believe the books of the Bible are good to live by, but I'm not convinced they're the sole path to salvation. I'm deeply interested in sublayers of the Judeo-Christian faith such as the Apocryphal and psedipigraphical writings but more as an academic curiousity than an exploration of my faith.

I argue Christianity and the Bible mainly because many people give false definitions of them. I may not believe the Bible is the divine writ of the creator but I recognize someone saying "the Bible was all written in the 1500's by Shakespeare" is dead wrong regardless of my beliefs.

My upbringing was Roman Catholic but I largely view it more as an ethnicity than a faith for me. I admit to grooving on the rituals and trappings of the faith but it's largely the idea that my ancestors have been conducting the same rituals for generations and I'm a part of that.

Here ya go, condensed version: (I'm late for my EQ fix)

I buy and accept Christmas pressents
I don't go to church because it's nothing but politics
I'm sure we didn't all just happen
I tend to refer to God every now and again, but I don't put a face to the name
I live my life in a way that tends to coincide with 'good' according to most of the Christian beliefs
I didn't burn down that church, but I sure did offer up thanks

I am more of a faith>religion person. Religion is more like a gang of followers, and human leaders. Faith is more like things you know, because they just make a divine sense, that you cannot measure by man's rulers. It is within yourself.

I'd prefer to have a game of racket ball, or go watch a hockey game with him over a few beers, and talk about the pros and cons of what he has created.

There is bound to be a Universe V 2.0 coming out soon. The basis of this one has been found to be too confining to accomodate everyone. I think God has learnt alot from the first one and will make a far better one next time. The concept of God will be removed from the next universe, it just casues way to many problems.
