of course, you are forgetting that iraq shot scuds in to saudi arabia and israel before the ground campaign started.

When did the US missles get shot into Iraq? Was it before the ground war started?

Of course.

of course, iraq had been portraying themselves as the only arab state with the balls to stand up to israel, but I'd still say shooting scuds in to civilian targets in a country whom you have not had combat-relations or whatever the @#%^ you want to call it, a pretty unambiguos first blood.

I'd say shooting TLAMs into a populated building in Iraq was pretty unambiguos. First Blood.

Of course.

how is shooting missiles in to civilian population centers in two countries who have not taken any aggressive action against you part of war?

Well, when we shot missles into Iraq who had taken no aggresive action towards us, I assumed it was part of the war. Apparently I was mistaken and it was terrorist attack by the US.

That would be your position, correct?

Of course. There's no other option given on what you've posted. Why do you call the US terrorists? Why do you hate America so much?

do you not get why this analogy sucks ***?

I know it doesn't suck *** for you because you think the US military are terrorists. Personally, I don't hate America or the US military, so I have a difffrent view of it.

iraqis invading kuwait ring a bell? besides. israeli ground forces did not participate in the first gulf war. I'm still waiting for evidence of israeli offensive actions!

Because shooting missles into civillian population centers is part of war. If it's terroristic then the US firing missles into a civillian population center prior in an attempt to assasinate Hussien was just as terroristic

which assasination attempt are you refering to? the most recent one (well, the most recent one that I am aware of) right around the start of the second gulf war? the one where we were trying to kill the commander of a military that was still taking daily offensive actions against us? I doubt that even you can't see the difference between missiles sent in to a non-hostiel country and this.

What daily offensive actions were being taken against us?

Please provide a specefric example of ONE you moron.

Oh wait, you won't be able to. Maybe you can provide one from the War of 1812 or something to continue your previous record of historical accuracy.

so you consider firing upon us and british aircraft as non-offensive actions?
Quote:
Iraq's firing on U.S. and British aircraft enforcing "no-fly" zones in Iraq is not a violation of the latest Security Council resolution, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said on Tuesday

Quote:
"The Iraqi regime has increased its attacks on the coalition, so the coalition has increased its efforts to protect its pilots," said Jim Wilkinson, a spokesman for the U.S. Central Command in Tampa. "Every coalition action is in direct response to Iraqi hostile acts against our pilots, or the regime's attempts to materially improve is military infrastructure south of the 33rd parallel."

Quote:
"Not many people realize that a war has been going on for the last several years in the no-fly zone," Gen. Amir Saadi, a top Hussein adviser, said in a December interview. "The very people that Britain and the United States claim to be protecting, they're killing them, maiming them, depriving them of their normal livelihood and also destroying the infrastructure which is there to serve them."

too lazy to pay for cnn premium, google news doesn't go back that far, and most/all googleable hits do not list specific dates.

the latest mentions of iraq firing on coalition aircraft in the nofly zone, that mention specific dates that I could find:
http://www.cdi.org/iraq/iraqaction.cfm

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/world/DailyNews/noflyzone020510.html

http://www.psywarrior.com/IraqNoFlyZone.html

Obviously, in the months between Jan 2003 and march 2003 when the invasion was started, the attacks ceased to occur because I can't find links to specific dates, only links to iraqi generals and us military officials commenting about the war over the nofly zones.

I see.

So there were no aggresive actions prior to our unprevoked missle attack?

Thanks for clarifying.

I'm sorry you see the US military as terrorists, but everyone is entitled to their own oppinion, I suppose.

do you not see how publcily dodging un resolutions and attacking coalition aircraft are aggressive?

to quote your own post,
Quote:

US and british airstrikes were triggered by iraqi attacks on aircraft. I generally consider someone shooting at me to be an aggresive action, dunno 'bout you.

******* moron, so you are dismissing easily found records only two months before the invasion, and mentions of it after that, as 'not specific enough dates'?

still waiting for evidence of israeli hostilities.

meant specific dates closer than that.
I suppose I could have stated it, but I thought even you would be intelligent enough to infer that some links had dates when I said, 'And these were the closest specific dates I could find.'

As for fixing that for me, you almost did. Except it ended up saying almost the same thing I did originaly.

So, now only have you ripped off the logout link in your sig, but now you're trying to win arguements with FTFY, which has been beaten to death.

I'm going to have to bow down and suck your di[/b]ck, because you're the ultimate bringer of reason, light, and originality.
