I find it highly amusing that Samhain is still celebrated.
And is stil concidered a "holy-day".

All Saints? suuuure.. Our pagan roots closer to the surface then we realize.

Sorry, folks...Canadians are officially US Citizens if they do that.

It's clearly a US holiday.

In other news, the Canadian Independence holiday is also a US of American holiday, despite the fact that it's called Canada Day.
Them crazy Canucks just hold their celebrations on the wrong days, is all. Next thing you know they'll mark the New Year in February!

Well, I, for one, give thanks on Canadian thanksgiving that we have more holidays in Canada than in the U.S.

Thanks!

And yay!

I give thanks that the women in the States don't wear the same underwear for six solid months while pregnant!

Yay!

I've heard Canadians celebrate their Thanksgiving by baking penguins, smearing seal pup grease on roasted snow rabbits, and eating lichen pie decorated with ice crystals. The poor bastards then don their Sunday best wooly mammoth suits and sing hockey fight songs to their Eskimo neighbors and sled dogs.

I forget where I found this, might have even been a quote from here. But here is another good take on the "Thanks of giving" idea.

Now, we can argue that they obivsouly wern't rich. But the rest.... ya gotta admit, it's close to correct.

Whoever wrote this, it sure sounds like they belong here in the Asylum.

How is it a US holiday, after all the original participants were British, not USians. Now a days it is more a celebration of British colonial roots, which includes Cananda. And if you want to get down to roots of the holiday, why the hell does anyone but virginians celebrate it.
