For all you Bush supporters...both of you.Follow

I got this email today. I can't stand Bush and I don't trust him, let me get that out of the way. The reason I'm pasting this garbage into a post is mainly to get you political savvy folks stirred up and to get google some more serious hits.

Honestly I do not have the time (although I wish I did) to tear this thing apart myself, but am sadistically interested in what a lot of you *coughsmashcoughtotemcoughetccough* have to say about these things...plus its fun to see you guys argue. It's a pretty big list, this should be fun:

-----

This was passed on to me, but I can't understand it. Maybe you can,

I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so
I'll know how to vote come November. Right now, we have one guy saying one
thing. Then the other guy says something else. Who to believe. Lemme see;
have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists - good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...
No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad... Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax
burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This
is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government.
This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been since
1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000.
Notice anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no
explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all
worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn
brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound
right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a
way to avoid paying his own.

Pass this on. Only 61 days until the election.

Yay Clinton!

By the way, there were many mass graves found in Serbia. That's just one of the many errors in that "comparison".

President's Salary = $400,000

Senator's Salary = $158,000

Assuming Bush's Oil interests are equal to Kerry's ketchup interests, of course.

i sure hope not. i think the first part of the email was more to take fault from Bush for anything done in his presidency...since Kerry hasn't been president (and won't be until after the elections), it would be pointless to compare him to Bush in terms of presidential decisions.

Ya getting your political info from chain emails is dumb. There are much better places for that info like internet gaming forums or the drudge...

Kerry released only his tax records. Not the taxes paid by his wife. He reported an income of about $400,000, from his Senate Salary, $145,000 from Capital Gains and $89,000 from book royalties.

Want to bet that if you figured out the gross taxes paid by the couple it'd be a lot higher than that $90,000?

Tare,

So there weren't mass graves in iraq? Saddam didn't use serin on his own people? That's right.

Actually this thread just confirms what we all know about the vast liberal media tendencies.

Huh?

The OP said "no mass graves found in Serbia - good". Tare points out that there were mass graves in Serbia, i.e. the OP is wrong.

Not that anyone should be suprised that a random Pubbie glurge e-mail might not be 100% accurate.

Whew when I tried looking up Clinton, halliburton, serbia on Google i got a million links to this article on. Nothing else.

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...

If only that were true Smiley: frown

http://www.iwpr.net/index.pl?archive/bcr2/bcr2_20020614_1_eng.txt [/link]

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good
Hmm the only figures i could find on Serbia are 500 million spent and that was around 1999 with expectations that the cost could balloon to 3-4 billion dollars. Im sure it was more than that but I doubt the 77 billion figure

Found another that said the congress in 2001 appropriated 768 million for Serbia for the year of 2001.

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
The chinese embassy bombing was a mistake on the part of Nato. Clinton and Nato apologized it was tragedy with innocents killed. Plus Clinton bombed terrorist camps in Afghanistan and I dont think anyone has a problem with either. I have a problem with Bush bombing an iraqi wedding ceremony and claiming it was a terrorist group

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,1220440,00.html

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - bad...

Mwah? Do I even need to go into how that one is flawed?

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad... Ahh, it's so confusing!

I have yet to hear a democrat/liberal say that putting Saddam on trial is a bad thing.

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton with Nato and United Nations support.
Bush without.
Thats the difference

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

-Clinton uses precision strikes and stays within international law to take out a percieved threat with no resulting US casualties.
-Bush invades a country and breaks international law with lots of US casualties.

Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all
worth several million dollars.

Approximate value of Bush's crawford ranch - $1,000,001- $5,000,000

A really good site for dirt on Candidates net worth and party finances is

http://www.bop2004.org/bop2004/default.aspx

Also here is just one of many articles criticizing the independant tax watchdog mentioned. Its the Tax Foundation

Yep. He backed the UN's inspections that were heading inexorably that way until Dubya fired the starting gun during the warm-up lap.

Quote:
Milosevic not yet convicted
Milosevic arrested and trial set in motion thanks to Clinton's pressure on International Courts.

This is the most bileous drivel I've seen since Varus saw a lame mule and got horny.

Ya know, **** makes it through the filter with just a funny little * in place of the i, you really didn't need to strain your wee little brain coming up with that. The rest of your comment I will ignore, if irony and is really that difficult of a concept for you, far be it for me to ruin your happy little world educating you.
