When I left my apartment this morning on the way to work this morning there was a car chillin on 2 blocks with the front bumber smashed on the curb... no wheels.

Down the road there is a civic with all spare tires. The other side of the complex has 2 pt cruisers on all spares and cavalier was up on blocks like a month ago.

Whats weird about this (other than the actual crime) is that all of these cars had stock rims. Yes even the civic. I guess I need to invest in some lug-locks or something.

I have lived in this general area all of my life and never saw anything like this, I just moved into the actual apartments about 3 months ago...

kinda crazy

That's odd that an apartment building sporting PT Cruisers, which are relativly new cars, also has that serious of crime problem. Ripping off wheels is a pretty bold crime, and is easy to spot. If you have a good view from your apartment might I suggest you invest in a decent low light video camera. Maybe you can anonymously help clear up the problem.

To the OP:

Dude, stop stealing people's wheels.

You'd be surprised how much people sell stock rims/tires for.

I know a guy who did 3 years in prison for stealing full size spares from dealerships.

He and a buddy would test drive 10-20 vehicles in a day and steal every single full sized spare. He said some days he made well over a grand after the money was split up.

Considering there was very little actual work involved and that he was stealing from car salesmen, he thought it was the perfect job. Of course that was before they got caught. Now, he IS a car salesman. Talk about fate.

I had to buy a new rim for my car not too long ago. You can get all 4 for a grand prix for like 400 bucks brand new.

Seems liket too much hassle to me for probably half that amount. Not to mention the pain in the *** it would be to have to take them all off my hand.

They also indicate really poor taste/knowledge. Nothing but a damn Neon with a different shell on it.

More like right up there with any of the Scion vehicles.

I mean, christ, they've got one that looks like it's the grand prize for "Who Wants To Drive A Lunchbox?".

I was seriously considering purchasing an Aztec until I drove one. What an awful interior. It's like they laid out the interior by having a drunken blindfolded monkey throwing darts with labels of all of the buttons, gages, and lights.
