Was, maybe. Now that it belongs to Canada, it's probably held together with Band-aids and fishing twine.

We didn't sell you the fine vessel of war we sold you a clapped out old wreck we decommisioned because it wasn't safe any more.

The fine Vessel of war is coming to haul your newly aquired sorry crumpled wreck back to port.

Doh, Canada!

NEVER take it back to the dealer for repairs unless they're warranty! They overprice everything, from parts to labor. You'll be singing God Save the Queen another 100 years to pay off the bill.

Breaking news: (11pm UK time)

A Canadian submariner has died in the incident.

So are the British liable for selling the Elk-shaggers a death-box for a quick profit, or were the Canucks negligent in buying shoddy 2nd hand goods on the cheap?

Discuss.

A little bit of both.

Frankly im more not happy with the canadian government. Why in the sam hell do we need a submarine. I know that Denmark is trying to make a claim for the North Pole, but c'mon.

If for some unreason we do need a submarine why just buy one without checking it out. There must have been a major problem with the Submarine if it lemoned up like that after only a couple days.

I think the Canadian Military and how they buy and maintain its equipment needs serious review. seakings....cough...cough...

damn you for pointing out my mistake /em shakes fist

Shiva, I believe the helicopters were in fact "Seakings".

Aptly named too, seeing as we've bloody hell spent enough time Seeking them out of the water.

Hmm Canadian Navy said this morning that NONE of the sailors were seriously injured. Yet now 1 is dead.

When asked if the submarine or any of the crew were in trouble of being lost Commodore Tyrone Pile said "no"

When also questioned whether the subs would become a white elephant for the Canadian Navy he also responded "no".

Not very reassuring.

Well Canada would need to actually have an enemy first before we needed protection.
