Possibly exhausted after watching George W. Bush continually declare that "it's hard work" in the first presidential debate of the season, FoxNews.com has slipped up by fabricating quotes that portrayed Sen. John Kerry in an extremely feminine light.
The Story

So does Fox. What has happened when the shining beacon of fair and unbiased media slips.

I dunno my moral compass has gone haywire. Oh well at least I still have The Drudge Report....

Fox news is a source i for one personally trust less to be accurate then China's state run Xinhua reporting on happenings in america. I base this on personal experiance.

Immidiatly after 9/11, Fox news "broke" a major story about how two of the terrorist pilots of the planes were supposedly flight trained at Embry riddle aeronautical university in Florida. I was attending college at Embry riddle in Prescott, AZ at the time.

The media immidiatly swarmed both campuses, resulting in a complete lockdown. very bad things were said about our admissions processes, and of the students there. Three days later they issued a retraction, saying oops, it wasn't embry riddle. sorry, no hard feelings ok? they got the state right, but it was some podunk little cessna school.

In the long run, i don't know that it mattered, but at the time it was rather uncomfertable, especially as i was Editor in chief of the school newspaper at the time, and when the PR people wouldn't talk, the local stations ended up trying to interview me a few times over the phone. Was rather annoying.

So no, fox news is a heaping pile of ****, suitable only for occasionally reporting a significant natural disaster sometimes before other stations. beyond that, useless.

Under the sub-title, The Metrosexual vs. the Cowboy (click on the image to the right for the archived article), FoxNews published fake quotes of John Kerry such as, "Didn't my nails and cuticles look great? What a good debate!" and "Women should like me. I do manicures."

I could believe it. All except the part about Bush being a cowboy.

I don't think this post is really worth Smash's or Totem's time to post in. Then again, I don't think that often either, for obvious reasons.

It was actually my hope by posting that to maybe dissuade them from entering the conversation.

I like fox news.
they are ahead of their time, no other news station manages to shatter so many principles of journalism in every single broadcast!

WRONG, maybe its an attempt to show that media bias is stupid and detrimental to society.

Fox (the topic of this very thread) and Drudge aren't exactly reknown for their "actual reporting". It's just more propaganda, but from a different angle.

Well varrus I can somehwat agree with you on the idea that all viewpoints need to be expressed. However, Im tired of conservative/liberal democrat/republican being the only litmus test for which propoganda is spread in this country. Frankly, there are people out there who want purely objective news. It will probably never happen. But I dont need anyones ideology spoon fed to me while Im trying to get the facts.
