The extended version of Return of the King is set for release on 12/14/04! YAY!

Quote:
The Dec. 14 home video release of director Peter Jackson's extended version of the Academy Award-winning "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" will feature 50 additional minutes of new footage, a new musical score and a cameo appearance of Jackson being felled by an arrant arrow.

I'm still holding out for the 20-disc extended trilogy set, whenever that ends up being released.

I've liked the series ever since those cartoons came out in the 70's. Obviously they weren't as good as Jackson's films, but they were quite popular and probably rekindled the public's interest in the books back then.

Or it could be that chicks like the movies because they're some of the best adventure movies to have come out in a long time.

Ya think?

Besides, everyone knows this is the real dreamboat of the movies.
