Suck lessFollow

New orders from the front:

Anyone who posts needs to suck less, you are driving away the decent posters with your crappy one line spam.

1. Henceforth anyone with less than 500 posts must post more than a 50 word count submission. With so few posts we assume you are a 14 year old who found mommy’s computer on again and while looking for *** **** found us instead. Therefore until such time as you can prove your worth we will assume you truly suck and expect you to amuse us with your pathetic understanding of basic spelling and grammar and astound us with your poor grasp of rudimentary debating skills and most importantly of all entertain us with your badly worded insults. This can only be done adequately with a larger post anything less smacks of a pathetic attempt at garnering respect through post count totals.

2. In addition, those of you recent additions with greater than 500 posts in their count must also submit with the 50 word count protocol, if you are not sure if you should be included in this provision but suspect you should be, do us all a favor and include yourself anyway, but pat yourself on the back for waking the fuck up and realizing some of us can’t stomach your shit.

3. Speaking of post count spamming: stop it, it’s old, you aren’t going to get to 10,000 anytime soon and if you did we would only shake our heads and wonder what prison or psychiatric ward allows you 24/7 access to a computer. Those of us with such huge post counts did it over years. Still think we will like you when you hit some magical number of posts? Well we won’t. Give it up, no one knows you, no one likes you, and no one will remember you 5 minutes after your last post, if you want respect here then act less like a petulant teenager who figured out how to jam the enter button and more like an adult who can string together two sentences and we will try to assume you can string together two coherent thoughts.

4. As for some magical number: no, there is not a magical number that will get you that super special nifty and wonderful title some of the boys have. They got that because the admins like them and realize their ability to add to the sum total of board quality surpasses the norm. What’s “board quality” you ask? It’s that thing you are sucking the life out of.

5. As of today anyone who uses the following abbreviations or one liners to express their dislike of and disgust for newbie’s attempting to introduce themselves or trolls attempting to prove how little their dick is shall be considered no better then said newbie’s and trolls: GFY, Go fuck yourself, STFU, ESAD, Eat shit and die, You Fucking Suck, Die…and other similar phrases, if you can’t come up with something a little more original then you need to STFU, GFY, eat shit and die, and definitely die because you fucking suck, you homos.

6. Flaming also known as “You made me cry and now I am going to say bader things to you, you bitch” at least that is what it appears to mean to most of you recently. This is the internet; people act like assholes on the internet because we can’t find them and kick their asses for acting like assholes on the internet. Stop assuming every bad thing said to you was meant to make you cry; it was, but at least have the balls to not do so here. Go to the bathroom and cut your wrists with a safety razor if it was so bad, I don’t want to hear about it. Also, stop assuming homophobic name calling is going to get the job done. This is the internet not the boys locker room, you can stop and think up a witty retort, use the spell check and even look up a good come back if your brain is, as I suspect, mush. Go crazy, be creative, you aren’t really trying to come up with something to hurt the guy so much as trying to find something that will make the rest of us laugh and laugh at him for, anyway.

7. New and improved threads: STOP FUCKING POSTING new threads if you have less then 500 posts. I’m not here to do your fucking homework for you, answer dumb *** questions like what my favorite pop band is or read some shitty email spam you thought was cute: I get email too you asshole and I suspect I saw the same fucking thing last year and didn’t think it was funny then.

I suspect I will receive a plethora of nasty comments on this post. Good. Maybe one or two of you will stop, think and stop sucking so much in the mean time.

I vote that this bill be made into a User Agreement that must be signed before posting on this forum. Alla really needs to take this one to heart.

/salute to Git for the initiative

You see, this is an example of suckimg more. Explaining why it conflicts would sure be an awfull lot of help. Maybe I should have pushed the minimum up to 2000.

Since you either have a short memory or a severe inability to analyze your own thoughts I will explain it for you.

You state that status in the forum community has nothing to do with post count, yet 3 rules later you go on to state that new threads should only be made by those with a higher post count.

Should I explain further or do you get the point?

Krogs, your logic makes absolutely no sense. You are extrapolating meanings from these rules that aren't there.

Status is only conferred indirectly by the quality of your posts, however some of you fuck nuggets have come to believe that respect is garnered through sheer quantity of posting. As this realization takes some time to sink in I am proposing you slow the fuck down by posting larger and therefore hopefully, fewer posts over a specific time span and cease any thread creations until you realize we could give a fuck what happened to your cat or how great your bowel movement felt last night. As there is no way to know when exactly this realization will hit most of you I proposed an arbitrary number of posts it will take to figure this out. I realize most of you need 3 to 5 times more posts to do so but it is awkward to propose such a measure be set at 2500 posts for obvious reasons.

It makes sense. I admit i was a bit off, but i do have a point. Yeah the majority of **** posts come from newb posters, but Ill make an example.

Since post count doesnt matter then hypothetically a 50 count poster could be accepted in the community as a valid contributer. Now, would you say that he shouldnt make any threads because his post count is too low? He has put forth good posts before why should he post a couple hundred more responses to validate his thread-starting ability? This actually invokes more spamming because he will get frustrated at only contributing to another's idea rather than submitting his own.

8 out of 10 times a person posting in the asylum with fewer than 50 posts is a sockpuppet.

Actually you couldn't do that in real life anyway. That would be assult and its illegal.

On another note YOu mention nothing about political ranting

All i do is spew the liberal left argument for everything. Which gives me another idea lets ban all republican ranting on this board.

How about an addendum to rule #5;

Anyone who thinks that using "FTFY", or "Fixed That For You", is in any way clever or entertaining is a total fucking ******. Congraduatlations, you're capable of comprehending the fact that if you can chance any or all of the words in what someone says it can be made to seem humorous. You're a castaway from the Short Bus Express if you think that doing it over and over is a good idea.

It doesn't demonstrate any real kind of knowledge on your part. It just shows that you're too much of a goddamned idiot to think of something original. You don't like having to come up with something amusing when you want to try to make fun of someone? No one gives a sh
it.

Krogsbrew,
The point Gitslayer is making is that quality trumps quantity seven ways from Sunday. He is stating that those people with large post counts, ie 2000+ have generally done so over the long haul and have proven their mettle by longevity.

The only amendment I would add to his rules is that those individuals who are creating socks need to sack up and at the very least make them entertaining. Turn them into whatever you want, right wing, left wing, black, white, yellow, red, brown, short, tall-- it doesn't matter. Just make them funny. Take Pieman for example. This is the quintessential example of uncreative puppeting. If this is somehow an actual original individual, you desperately need to kiss the business end of a 12 guage, because you embody the word "dull."

Technically you would be WarlordTrooper's sockpuppet if one were to go into technicalities...

Well, work on the humorous aspect of your writing then-- and I mean this in all sincerity, because it will separate you from the rest of the wastrels here who clog up the server's processing capability with crap.

Good advice. I do wish there was flaming with some degree of intelligence though. To me, insulting someone's intelligence by not stating any fact that counters any facts that the poster had originally presented, is just like calling someone a "doody-head" like we did in the third grade. Personally I like seeing people's opinions picked apart by the good posters and being broken down every step of the way, while providing counter points that make the original poster look like an idiot.

I disagree with rule number 1 on one condition. If the said person is posting a link to an article that they just read, and only use about 3-4 words. Not much more is needed, than "Look at this..". But if it is a stupid article, commense with the stoning.

I'm in broad agreement git.

A few caveats though:

1) Much of my delight at the writings of John Cleese, Richard Pryor, Mike Pail and others has emanated from their response to lengthy erdudite and well-worded speeches with a terse, inappropriate expletive. Please don't take away my 'GFY'

C) If we drive n00bs away, how is Varus going to spread the Word among the heathens?

ix) This '50 word count' makes sense until I think of Gbaji. Is there a '9,000 word' rule?

  • Where do babies come from?

  • 42) I could abide by most of the rules, but think we should reserve the right of posters to randomly misquote other posts to drive home a misguided and ill-informed point about presidential candidates.

Git I think you really need to include this, I hate not getting all the great stuff because the OP got scared!
    #26 Sep 25 2004 at 7:03 PM Rating: Decent
Thanks, Git, it needed to be said.

    I propose the following addendums:

1: Posting a link to something and then writing a single sentence afterwards like, "LOL, look at this one" should actually *subtract* from said person's post count.

    2:
    Quote:

and that goes double for those who FTFY to homophobic homoerotic themes. It's been done. It's over. Any humor that was once present has now been sucked so dry that everytime it is again attempted a black hole is created which sucks just a few more neurons from those who created it and those who happen upon it while perusing the forums. And for those who create it...well...I'm guessing that you really just can't spare those neurons.
