So do you all have a girlfriend?Follow

Hi there, I'm a single girl about to turn 20. I'm into FFXI just so you know, that's how I got here ^_^

I just wanted to know how many of you all have girl friends? Where did you meet them? Do you play games together?

I myself am kinda lonely, I have no idea where to go to meet people (I think that comes with working in a non-consumer environment and not being in HS anymore) and I'm rather shy, but I've decided it's time to solve the problem. I'd like to be able to find a guy that plays games too, as it is really nice to have a major hobby to share with someone.

I know it can't be THAT hard to meet someone. Any ideas on where I should go?

PS: I don't like dancing or loud music (unless it happens to be for a specific event, I definitely like going to shows) but other than that I'm open for any suggestions you might all have.

Thanks in advance, feel free to discuss, I'm not looking for a specific answer or anything.

31, single with a son (who I have custody of).

No girlfriend, but I'm not really looking either. Between friends, family, my son, just bought a house a year ago, etc my life feels full enough without moping that I'm not seeing anyone.

To answer the "where'd you meet?" bit, all the lasses I met at that age were met through school. Of course, I was at a university at the time.

The answer to all of those questions is: the local street corner.

I'd like to be the first to say that internet forums aren't really the best way to look for a date (especially if it's not even a dating forum!). Though oddly enough I do know a few couples who met and got together *in games*, so it can work.

I do have a girlfriend, we got together a few months ago (July 3rd in fact) at a party at my house. We're both semi-reclusive computer geeks, though she doesn't play any games that I do. We play console games, though.

The best way to meet people is to hang out with friends. That's where my gf came from - a mutual friend dragged her to my party. Since then she (my gf) has been trying to hook up another mutual friend with some of my friends/roommates.

Library, parks, stores, community events, pen pal and many more. My husband and I were pen pals before we ever met in person.

Why would I get flamed for asking a couple of simple non-game conversational questions in the Asylum Forum?

Edit: Oh looks like I got some responses ^_^

I think I'll try the friend route, seems to work well for me.

But yeah I wouldn't look for a date on here >.> Notice how you don't know where I live ^_^

Which one of you was the one in prison?

'Cause it's what folks do. Tecnically, you'd probably get flamed for posting it in OoT as well, except they aren't allowed to say "fuck" there.

Ive been to much of an *** lately so i will take the OP serious.

23 male, going out with a 25 female.

We met at work.

We flirted around for like 5 months and always hung out together, one day i got asked to goto the bar which i also detest mainly cause of the club music and fact that i dont drink. I figured why not though and about half way through the nite she put the moves on me. We have been going out for 3 months now.

Now that im out of high school i would say i meet the majority of girls through work or university. Also by going to house parties/hanging out with friends.

What gives? I don't lurk about this board to read this kind of crap. Maybe because it's Friday and ya'll are hoping to get lucky tonight? Haha - Good luck on that!

I'm disappointed.

LOL it's reasons like this that I said I wasn't looking for a particular answer. You can pretend I'm lying, I don't care, haha I just was hoping to get some decent feedback.

^_^ This is fun.

lol...it's been a little bit and while I said I wasn't coming back until the election i'm just too bored and this thread is just too delicious. Keibah don't listen to these morons about how to hook up. If you're cute go just about anywhere and if you catch a decent looking guy glance your way give him a smile. If he's got any balls he'll come talk to you, if not no big loss. I've picked up quite a few women just by going up and talking to them if I catch them smile in my direction, of course that usually ends the next morning. I like sporting events or the after parties, fun for all.

I'm a single dad, but spoken for. My partner (varus) and I are just waiting for Bush to flip-flop so I can marry him.

We met here in the Asylum and have something very special, so don't rule out the chance of finding a soul partner here.

Hmm, smile, I think I can do that, but perhaps not randomly lol ^_^;; I'm not a huge fan of short affairs.

I guess you could say I'm cute(as many have), but I wouldn't say I'm everyone's cup of tea either. And unless you're like drop dead gorgeous, that's how it tends to be.

I tend to prefer the drop dead gorgeous type, don't take it personally =), ask anyone here though and they'll tell how truly shallow I am.

Yeah, hookers are notorious for one night stands.

29 male dating a 24 Female. We met at work (she was working for a television station and I work in politics) and have been seeing each other 6 months tomorrow. Probably going to take a drive up north tomorrow to celebrate and check out the fall colors. Picnic and all that jazz.

I'll give you the same great advice that a wise man named Taco and several others including Joph gave me after a rocky period... don't push yourself. Join a couple of clubs or do some activities or classes that interest you. If you're dead set on the gamer type boyfriend a convention may be a good idea for you. Lord knows there's a great ratio there in your favor.
