Did the Red Sox peak too early? They are 5-5 since their huge win streak last week. It looks like they'll make the playoffs via the wild card slot barring a complete collapse, but I wonder if they are out of gas for the post season.

They're taking a breather. It's just like a night of great sex with your wife. Ya due it a few times need a little recharge then go at it a few more times. Then bring it to the almighty climax by blowing your big chance in the end.

There's a joke in this post somewhere.

Hey, how many games back are the Mariners?

Like 45 or so?

Cubbies are 1/2 game out of the Wildcard lead in the NL after the double header yesterday. With luck, we'll keep playing like we have in the past 10 games (8-2) and move into the post season. Of course, once we get into the post season, I envision many "lovable loser" comments, but at least they'll have gotten that far.

All I care about is that the Lions are 2-0, that is a big step!

Keep Dreamin...

the only way the cubs are going to make the post season is if the Giants totally hammer the Dodgers in the next 12 days or if the Giants **** it up royaly....

(well the latter is a possibility but with the way the 'pen has started to come through you never know Smiley: wink )

Don't knock the Mariners-- they helped your cause by beating the Angels and Oakland last week. The lowly Ms could be spoilers right about now. But with the thrashing the Yankees are putting on the BoSox it would appear the tank just ran dry and right before the playoffs. Not good.

Put the crack pipe down, son. They won two out of three at home facing the 4,5, and 2 pitcher of the Red Sox. Wow. That's hardly a thrashing. If they win the three games at Fenway this weekend I'll be worried.

The Yankees should have won all 3 games - Kenny Lofton should have made that catch. Pussy.
But Boston should clean em up next weekend. They do that a lot, trade off series. I'm a bit worried, though, since Boston can't capitalize on Yankee losses like they need to do.

Cubs will not go. There's too much of a chance that Giants and Dodgers will split some games.

Still, there is some baseball left to play. One never knows.

Cubs and Giants have the same number of losses, so it's a virtual tie. Plus, the Cubs have a much easier schedule the rest of the way.

Trick,

The Cubs will fuck it up. Face it...they aren't play-off material this year.

I don't think tricky or I ever expected the Cubs to make it past the first round, but don't count them out of the playoff picture entirely.
