White History Month?Follow

What's the cut off for that? Any time I hear someone acting as if I, as a white guy, owe something personally to the descendants of slaves I gently remind them that mny family was in Poland until the early part of the 1900's.

On the other hand, I think I should get reperations from anyone of Germanic or Russian descent.

white history is taught in most schools exclusively. as far as having an all white school, why would you want your children to grow up in an enviroment that promots segrigation? how will they learn to interact with the world what they have been sheltered from reality for most of their learning?

discrimination still exists. it is alive and well.

you will not end it by seperating people based on the color of their skinn. nor will you end it by supressing the heritage of other races like our education system has, and still does.

black history month? if it wasnt for this, many black people who have fought and died for their freedom and THIS country would go unnoticed, because us white people wrote about the people who were important to US when WE wrote the history books.

untill we can fully intigrate all of our cultures, white, black, red, brown and yellow inclusively when we teach the future of our country, our children, about the TRUTH of history, and not just one persons interpetation of it, we will continue to need black history month, and hispanic history monet, adn aisian history month, and even arabic history month.

but white history month? every one with a public education got 12 years of white history month.

Reservations are full of people who don't want to work, but would rather sit in a trailer all day and pretend that they are clinging to their culture. Is whities were pretty bad to them in the past, but now, when we hand them the ball, many of them just stand there with it and get tackled.

Slavery is not the only reason that the NAACP exists. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. It is an organization that exists to protect and defend their civil rights, not from just white people, but from everybody. The fact that slavery isn't around anymore or that the 'roots of slavery' will die within 50 years doesn't mean a damn thing. Its like if you said, "What is the boys and girls club going to do when there are no more boys and girls?". There will always be a need for it, otherwise it would have not even been formed.

You have to realize something. Whites are not a minorty. White Males are at the top of the 'social food chain' whether we like it or not. Any school that doesn't have a single minority in it is a white school. Any school that has less than 20% of its students as a different ethnicity is a white school. There are many programs out there for females. White females are a minority.

As for the racial slur/nickname, refer to your first question and common sense. It was used as a belittling label for slaves that was supposed to keep them down and physically show white superiority in its time. So you go up to a stranger and say it to their face, um, DUH, what do you expect? It is the same as if you went up to a girl you never met and said "what up *****" or "what up ho?".

The reason the minorities have all of these organizations and such is because they need and deserve them more than us white males do. We have it made, and we can't deny that maybe the reason we have it that way is because of all the **** our ancestors did.

If you still need recognition after all that then I seriously pity you.

The OP I did was nto intended to make people believe I liked segregation or was for it. I just wish we could have the same rights and clubs black people do without it being racist. White history month is the perfect example for it.

Theres a rule out there when you take a certain standardized test and your african american.... u automatically receive 40 or so extra points? What kinda ******** is that? I would like to think cause we assume all black are just dumber than us... but then that would be racist. SO you tell me why this rule is in effect. Ill find it later and add it to this post.

ok slavery was wrong, we all know this, it was a bad era, but you cant look at one side of it. the thing is there have been wars in africa for ever. we didnt "steal" black people, we bought them. im not saying the fact that they were bought as property makes it ok. its just that we didnt raid countrys and capture people. but the thing that bugs me most is how black people in this time era use it as a crutch. yes your ancestors went through hell, our ancestors were ********. reparations for slavery in my opinion is acceptable to a certain point. if you are deep in your roots and are hurt by this then yes. if you just want money from the white man then you are taking it for the wrong reasons. its been over 200 years, its time to let go. and yes i do realize that white men do typically do better in society but thats because they make something of it. and look at rapers for instance. they had sh*t to start with and look at them now. they made something of themselves.

I dont see how its your problem your ancestors 200 yrs ago owned a plantation with blacks who are descendants of black ppl who failed to defend them selves because the whole country of blacks were several centuries behind the rest of the world... btw, ull notice a pattern in blacks. theyre violent in africa and violent in america. e.g. gangs, robbery, and the average aggresive black person who loves to say, i would whoop yo' ***! theyre violent because theyre not vicurious and are so wrapped up in their own lives theyre too busy trying to be tough guy to make them selves feel good. theres some thats not though. but this is just our stereo typical tyrone williams, or shaniqua clark.
