School Uniforms?Follow

#1 Sep 16 2004 at 2:46 PM Rating: Good
There is a large Catholic High School near my store and occassionally a couple of the girls come in after school. What happened to the plaid skirts they used to wear? I mean the solid colored ones aren't that bad, but the imagery is not there. And since when did they truly become so darn short, I mean where is the modesty in wearing a skirt that is only halfway down the thigh?

Yeah this post sounds wrong, but there is no "fantasy" hear, just a question about school uniforms.

Also, should all schools be required to have a standard dress code?

A few years ago, when I took the commuter train to work, there were a few Catholic schoolgirls who rode the train. Only problem is, this was mostly during the dead of winter, so they also wore high stockings, leotards etc. Smiley: frown

And yes, they stopped a good few inches above the knee. Blue-and-white plaid, pleated. Mmmmm.

I am all for the uniform dress code in schools. What I dont get is when people use the "...but that takes away my individuality..." arguement against it. Seriously, if you need a certain shirt or brand of pants to define you as an individual then society is more fucked up than I thought.

The best part is, when given the freedom to express their "individuality" through clothing, teenagers usually wind up dressing just like their friends.

What are you, gay or something? How can nailing a catholic school girl not be a fantasy.

mmmmmmmm Chatholic School girls.

I think I will go down to the local Catholic high school now and slowly drive along side a group of girls as they walk home and tell them I can give them a "ride" home. I'm sure no one will report me.

She had the outfit but it wasn't quit the same thing. You need the whole inocence bit to go with it or it's just a stripper in a plaid skirt. As a point of reference, think hooker dressed up like a Catholic School girl, I am sure it's the same Smash.

There are some people out there who find clothing to be an integral part of self-expression and that didn't dress like clones in high school.

There are far more people who dressed "uniquely" to demonstrate how hip they were :)

And who instead dressed the same way as everyone else who used clothing to try to look unique.

Hmm forcing kids to dress a certain way. Now why would they want to dress all of our youth the exact same way in order to take away thier individuality and just endleslly drag day in day out submitting to the system. Then they eventually graduate having thier mind formed to do whatever is told of them. And they graduate around 18 or 19 is... hmmm military age interesting.

I believed they tried this before but it was in the 1930's and GERMANY

uniforms bite. alot. im not going to give you any of this bullsh'it about it destroying my individuality. i just dont want to wear them. given that there arent a whole lot of compelling reasons to require a uniform that cant be adressed with a reasonable dress code i just dont see the reason. i'd say student morale is alot more important than making us conform to a uniform.
