I saw his speech this morning and the guy has some very interesting ideas. I am definitely more interested in his energy policy than Bushs. I think the guy has a view of emerging technologies like I do. I take back the things I said yesterday about him being a weak candidate. Bush has a real run for his money this year, just wait and see.

I've seen a few people on this forum convert from Bush to Kerry but no one from Kerry to Bush.

I'd like to take credit for that, but really, I think it's more Stok's fault.

Its Kerry's fault, he said exactly what I've been waiting for a leader to say in years. Changing our energy dependence from the Middle East to right here to the goodole US of A with emerging technologies IS the right goddamn direction. I can put all disagreements aside for making a change in our energy policy. With nanotechnology and hydrogen burning engine technology we can completely change the direction of wealth and prosperity in this country. Kerry knows his ****.

You might want to look up Al Gore and Ralph Nader, say, four years ago.

Al Gore was too much of a whacko for me man... Sorry wasnt feelin that one. In light of his behaviour recently he has only reinforced that judgement.

Granted.

A change to US energy policy would be nice, but allow me to remain ridiculously caustic on the subject until I see infrastructure changes within the US.

I was pretty happy when I could finally get electricity to my house via 100% renewable sources, but I think it will take considerably longer before other people will choose that route, and probably longer still before transportation methods abandon fossil fuels.

Not to belabor the obvious, but keeping the adminsitration with the most ties to Big Oil in the history of the country in power probably doesn't help that along any.

Has anyone figured out a way to efficeintly produce Hydrogen yet?

Both Kerry and Bush are tight-lipped about outsourcing, although Kerry says he'll eliminate the tax breaks. I would like to see a firmer stance on outsourcing, seeing as how it's been gouging the Bay Area for years now.

As for his speeches, they do carry a certain energy that will hopefully turn into new policies.

Take a 9volt battery, attach wire stripped at both ends, insert into water.

That's all well and good, but where are you going to find a 9 volt battery and some water, you god damn communist?

Is the efficient? I know how hydrogen is made, but where will the energy come from to make the hydrogen in the first place?

That's all well and good untill you realize to do that on a very large scale to make fuel for cars, you need something to generate the elctricity.

What we'll probably get is cars that run on Hydrogen produced by electricity from fossil fuels.

Short of using solar or wind to produce the hydrogen, its really just another form of petro or nuke.

No, when enough mutated babies are born, we'll wise up and use renewable sources, and fission, most likely.

Solar power, hydroelectric, and aero-fan (caged to protect the environment). There are also micromechanics being engineered that might make turbine based magnetic generators a thing of the past as well.
