Okay. Time for foreplay!

/kneels at the foot of the bed
May the Lord forgive me for the bestial, depraved and universally illegal acts I am about to commit.
And Lord, please remind me to bury this one deep enough. Save me from the embarassment of dogs digging her up like the last 3.

Okay baby. Come and get it!

Not to get this thing dangerously close to back on track or anything, but Time release an interesting poll today.

Gotta love the convention bounce, eh Johnx2? Oh wait, they didn't really get one, did they? :)

EDIT: And yes, Joph, I see that Varrus posted it first, but do you really pay attention to anything he writes? :)

I'm actually a bit surprised by this poll figure:

Quote:
On the economy, tied with the war on terrorism as the most important issue ahead of the Nov. 2 election among registered voters, Bush narrowly came out on top

Kerry's in deep trouble if Bush is polling higher then him on the economy. As much as I'll defend Bush's decisions in that area, I'll readily grant that most voters will tend to look purely at the fact that we've gone through a bad recession during Bush's term and are still down from where we were when he took office. I happen to think that trending directions are more important, but most will just look at the start and end points of a term. If he's even narrowly beating out Kerry on this poll, even given the assumed post-convention bounce in ratings, that's got to have Democrats concerned. If I was a member of Bush's campaign, I would have been overjoyed to just pull up close to Kerry on the economy. Pulling ahead, even a bit, is huge.

The other interesting thing about that poll is it was taken priot to Bush's speech. I think the gap may even increase on the next poll. Which has to have the Dems worried.

Yeah, I don't know. 11 points in a week is pretty ludicrous for either candidate. I think this poll might just be an abberration in sample set. I'd say the same thing if it showed Kerry with an 11 point move. We'll have to wait and see how the other tracking polls come back.

The poll that I believe you're talking about is from Time..and not many people were polled. Might not have had a broad enough range.

Well it's really the lack of emotional response. Bush hasn't given me a reason to distrust the things he says. It doesnt seem that 9-11 is half as politicised by the side being accused of politicizing it. The Dems are counting on your skepticism towards government so much they havent even produced a platform yet. You choose Kerry or "the guy you don't like". I still to this day have no clue how Kerry would prosecute the war on terror. To this day I don't know where Kerry stands on the war in Iraq. To this day I really don't know crap about Kerry except his voting record in congress. From that, he seems like an apologist dove who wants to tie up our national defense in politics with the UN. By the way, this is the same UN that has been caught red-handed in an "oil for food" fiasco that went against its very own sanctions on the country it was doing business with.

Wow my favorite kind of poster I wont do research to see what is going on I will only believe the ***** I see on TV.

Funny thing about AP stories are they have a history of leaning left. For instance this one if u read it. The Poll even in their story Clearly states 52-41 yet the Title is 9 point lead instead of 11 points. Meh anyhow

Smash the bet still , 100 bucks in cash and 1 yr Premium membership. I'll take Cash order thanks.

Pinko bastards won't even wear the pointy hoods or swastikas these days.

Think this through. If I want to sell my news stories to as many people as possible, am I going to lean in any fucking direction.

The reference to the 9 points when the numbers are actually 52 to 41 is because bush already had a lead when the poll was taken and he tacked on an additional 9. Read the damn story and at least know something about the topic before you start posting. sheesh.
