Ok, I have officially and *ahem* legitimately reached 9,000 posts. Not that my previous erased posts weren't legitimate, but the board Gestapo seems to think otherwise.

Congrats Totem. When ya gonan pick up the next digit in the post count?

You should make up a post, made up of clips of old posts, just like they do sometimes on TV for thier anniversary episodes.

Or start getting one ready for 10k, that is, of course, unless, you are going to leave again.

Gratz.

This was a good one:

The vast majority who actually sign their name to a post get hit hard enough that they rarely return. It seems to follow this formula:

1) Mr. Newbie reads OoT for a while and resists the temptation to post due to the nastiness which goes on or because the subjects require a working knowledge or semi-intelligent point of view.

2) He either sees a post he just has to say something on or finally works up the courage to make an innocuous fluffy thread.

3) He gets flamed. Hard.

4) This time, while attempting to defend himself, he gets flamed by the entire board.

5) He develops a thicker skin or retreats to wherever it was he came from where they have no sharp edged corners or meanies lurking about waiting to pounce on babes in the woods.

It is an effective method of culling the weaker strains from the resilient ones, Katielynn excepted. She is like a mutant creature which lives off Raid and RoundUp, and would shrivel up and die if she weren't exposed to intense ultraviolet, gamma, and X-rays 24/7. We continue to study this anomaly...

By your avatar, I see you happen to be Michael Jackson.

I mean, who the fuck else would use the cover from "The Little Prince"?

Find yourself an avatar that represents proof you have a life, and then you can call people on their lack of a life.

You know, the same principle that makes saying "OMMUG YUORE GRAMMER ADN SPELING AER TEH SUX!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111111q" a totally useless critique of the subject's grammar and spelling.

Hell, I don't even technically spam and I made over 800 posts in 4 weeks.

Just find a broad base of subjects you're willing to contribute reasonably intelligent comments on.

(By "reasonably intelligent" I mean that you could make well-thought-out racial slurs and you would probably get rated up for grammar and spelling on them, plus you'd get more posts. :->)

Unlike you, Trickybeck and I are willing to *gasp* spend money for a premium account.

Basically it's $3/month to search the forums, and the search page could use some tweaking anyway. :-)

MDenham, if I had a use for it I might consider signing up for it, but since I will never again play an online game, I really can't in good conscience spend money to do what I already do for free: Entertain the masses. And seeing that I practically reside here in the Asylum, search features, quest forums, et al hold no power over my wallet.

That being said, you may sign up for Totem-on-Demand and get up to date notifications of when I post a priceless gem. Just ask Skeet-- he's signed up through 2010!
