Not as good as Nemo or Spidey but it's still generating a lot of attention.

It is the #1 box office smash of all time. What did you expect.

I think it generated over 600 million at the box office around the world. That is close to 100% more than titanic.

They should have touted it as a superhero movie. It's based on a fictional character, after all.

Are you asking me what did I expect? I expected better but am glad that it did as well as it did. Goes to show you that more parents will buy cartoon movies to keep their children occupied instead of actually spending quality time with them.

My former brother-in-law purchased one for each of his family (5) and one for my ex's familly (4). Funny what religious fervor does, I don't think he would do that if bambi was rereleased.

According to MovieWeb.com the number one box office hit (unadjusted dollars from the looks of it) remains Titanic at $600mil. Passion is #8 at $370mil. I'm not sure if those are US numbers or global but, even if they're only US, Passion's worldwide receipts at your $600mil barely matched Titanic's US receipts.

Imagine parents not buying their kids a graphic depiction of the torture and crucifixion of Christ with subtitles.

If I want to spend quality time with my child and have them learn about Christ, I'll crack open the Bible to Matthew and start reading. Wouldn't that be better than popping a DVD into the machine?

Yeah.. well... just watch it next time!

Actually, I'd start with Luke. It has a better telling of the Annunication.

Especially that movie. It is a little too hardcore.

I presume that most churches are going to be throwing snippets of the crucifixtion and the beatings while they preach to non believers about the deeds of christ.

Seems so. Honestly though I dont think the movie was great at all. I happened to see it because I heard it was good. I saw it then saw the South Park "The Passion" Episode later and happend to agree with South Park. A 2 Hour movie just about someone getting torchered different ways sucks. First 5min might have been interesting but comon, honestly do people consider it an entertaining movie? I happened to not enjoy it. Though I did see it like the many other people, but in no mind will I buy the DvD or VhS.

I think I'll go out and rent it now. I don't want to see it out of any religious obligation, but as a confirmed Catholic, I still wanna see what all the hubbub is about.

It's just really violent, which was a big selling point I imagine.

It's not a bad flim, really, a little derivitive, but it's kind of hard not to be.

I bought the DVD, mainly because I hadn't seen it yet, and I don't do rentals. I am too lazy to take DVDs back on time, and by the time I pay the penalties I could have bought 5 DVDs more often than not.

Anyway, I digress. Oooo owww owww, that flagellation looked like it must have smarted. Crucifiction must have been a blessing after that.

It's kind of hard for me to watch a film if I already know what happens in the end.

Ruins it for me.

I resemble that remark.

I really guess I should see the blamed movie. Just to find out what all the hubub is about.

I actually have liked most of Mel's movies, but this one has never made it onto my 'must-see' list. I'm just a heathen at heart. :)

Patrician, TStephens, your savior awaits:

NETFLIX

I love NETFLIX almost as much as I love my TiVo, and that's saying something.
