New York, NY - Hundreds of attendees at the Republican National Convention were injured or killed in a tragic shooting comitted by California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Photos). The cyborg's neural processor apparently malfunctioned, causing him to commence the shooting spree. He was of course armed with a 12-gauge automatic shotgun, as is required by Gov. Schwarzenegger's newly signed law that stipulates all public officials to be armed at all times.
According to Schwarzenegger's spokeswoman, the malfunction was caused by the abnormally large amount of flash photographs being taken during his keynote speech.
"I kept screaming for them to stop taking pictures" she said. "I could see his eyes start to glow red, and I knew something was wrong."
Henry Brown, event organizer for the convention, said that signs were posted all around the theater prohibiting flash photography during the Governor's speech.
"I don't know what happened to them. We had thousands of signs posted. We were all aware of the dangers of these bright flashes in the presence of our nation's first Robot Governor, and we took necessary precautions."
Officials estimate the number of dead at 37, and as many as 250 injured.
Police are currently investigating who may have removed the signs. Chief of Police John Anderson declined comment, other than noting, "We have several suspects already."
In other convention news, known Bush opponent Michael Moore (Photos) was spotted leaving the theater shortly before the shootings ocurred. When asked why he was attending the convention, Mr. Moore said "I keep my friends close, and my enemies even closer."
