I'm the recipient of thousands of these Nigerian scam emails, and normally I just delete them, I was inspired by various web sites like this one:

I'd like to see what we can get out of Mr. Ibeh. Shoot an email and see if you can get pictures or documents or whatnot out of him.
If someone accomplishes a tryely heroic feat, like getting money or an excellent photo, I'll happily front some sort of prize.

I have contacted you to assist in repartrating the money and property left behind by my client before they get confisicated or declared unserviceable by the holding trust where this huge deposits were lodged particularly, through the citi trust finance company , where the deceased had an account valued at about $9.5million dollars has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confisicated within the next ten official working days. since i have been unsuccesfull in locating the relatives for over 2 years now i seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last name so that the proceeds of this account valued at $9.5million dollars can be paid to you and then you and me can share the money. 40% to me and 60% to you I have all necessary legal documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make.

Does it have to be this guy or can we just nail any of the Nigerian money transfer guys? I think I have one of those emails saved somewhere, just in case I felt like trying exactly what you're describing. Plus, we get them at least twice a month over the fax here at work. :)
Whatever. Just so long as you don't cut and paste an existing anti-scam scam from the 'net somewhere.

Surely any anti-spam scam I could google up and cut/paste could also be googled up by others here and I'd be publicly scorned.
Rest assured that anything I manage to submit will be of my own contrivance.

You should just ignore this stuff. The US Embassy along with some from other nations have posted warnings regarding this. This is a kidnapping scam where they attempt to lure you to a foriegn country in an attempt to kidnap you and hold you for a ransom. Any corresponace with these people is considered not only dangerous but ignorant as well.

Not to be overly cheeky, but stating that it would be ignorant to do something when one is fully aware of the situation is pretty, well, ignorant. It also causes deep suspicion that you're ignorant of the meaning of the word ignorant.
