Looks like Michael Howard has damaged relations between the British Conservative Party and the Republicans
Link Here

When you compare the Special Relationship between Thatcher & Reagan, and Major and Bush Sr, it's all gone belly-up.

Given that Blair's popularity is so low (perhaps iredeemably so), is Bush tying his colors to a sinking ship?

One can only hope.

Michael Howard = A Big Buddy of Dubya pre-Iraq2 and a ****

Tony Bliar = Dubya's pseudo-socialist Butt-Plug who sacrificed his credibility and career by supporting an ill-thought-out illegitimate war, but the only reason USA had any allies fighting with em in Iraq.

The Conservative Party = the British right-wing party who let Thatcher sign up the UK to be Reagan's Aircraft Carrier and be the primary target for an Eastern Bloc nuclear strike in return for. . . . well, f'uck-all actually.
